This is all about value.
This is a good type IV cushion. It is clearly marked with all of the required USCG verbage and numbers. It floats well and will keep a larger body (I'm 240 lbs.) safe. We have been using it as a floaty while we swim off of the boat. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the strapping and stitching is somewhat thin and I can see it tearing at the seam someday, but at this price it is a good buy.

Durable, toss able flotation cushion for your boat
Coast guard and state regulations require you to have a throwable flotation device aboard your boat, and this one fills the bill. It is not fancy but seems durable and has two handles on opposite sides making it easy to deploy and for a person in distress in the water to grab and hold. The price was right, too.

Quick Deployment Device in case someone goes overboard
We bought two of these for a first line of rescue in case of an overboard situation. They are well made and have a good amount of foam inside. The handles are thin, but are secured to the cushion securely. While they are fairly firm and may not be that comfortable sitting on them, they will suit our purpose for rescue well.
