BN-LINK Heavy Duty Dual Outlet Mechanical Timer,24-Hour Light Timer,3-Prong

I had a digital timer that cost $26 and had all the features - even corrected itself for daylight savings time! Only trouble was, if I didn't look at it for a month or two, I had to get the instructions out to relearn how to program it. Even switching it to Manual ON, for me, required the manual! And, to top it off, it was very difficult for me to read all the LED display's characters from a few feet away (it was under a kitchen cabinet). Since I use this timer to control grow lights in the kitchen garden window, really all I need is a simple on in the morning and off at night 7 days/week. So I put the digital timer away (it has a internal battery to store the program in, so hopefully I'll remember to plug it in every year or so to keep the battery healthy) and bought a cheap $8 timer with mechanical switch segments at the local home improvement store. Some of the segments wouldn't slide down freely so I returned it, and ordered a pair of these BN-Link Dual Outlet timers from Amazon. So far, both work perfectly! the Pluses: The segments slide down to the ON position cleanly and easily, I like having a manual slide switch for the always ON function, the timer wheel can be adjusted to the current time within 10 minutes or so, and I can read the timer wheel calibration marks just fine. Having 2 AC outlets is handy since I do have 2 grow lights on it. Each segment adds 15 minutes of on time. If you register your purchase after receiving this timer, you get 15 months more warranty time.

Buying this has changed my life. I work nights, and the closest light switch is for a lamp at the opposite end of the room from the front door. So I bought a cheap timer from a local hardware store to have the lights turn themselves on before I get home. It worked, but it was pretty flimsy and after a week it started making a loud ticking noise and the timer stopped moving. This brand is around the same price, is solidly constructed, and gives you the option to plug in 2 devices. Because it's a manual timer, it's very easy to set and doesn't eat up your electricity bill. There are many ways to use these, but I just use them for lighting up my living room. It's a relief to come home and not have to stumble around in the dark bumping into furniture looking for the floor lamp switch. And I never have to worry about accidentally leaving the light on, because I programmed it to shut off around the time I go to bed. I would recommend this product to anyone to wants to make their daily routine a little easier. I've used it for a few months now with no issues, and it's definitely worth the $10 price.

I got this product for the heater I have in my fish tank. In the winter it was fine to be on all the time (we keep it cold in my house to save money). In the spring it gets warm enough that it doesn't need to be on all the time and will get the water too hot. I thought a timer like this would be the perfect solution. And it was! I can turn the tank heater on every other 30 minutes and keep the tank a perfect 78 degrees. I have used this product for 2 months now. I was initially put off by how big this product is. I thought that in this day we can make anything smaller, why not this. I realized that this is as big as it is because the dial is very detailed and works in 15 minute intervals. Even with the dial this big, the tabs are very small. I had to use the tip of a pen to make sure I was getting the right ones pushed. There is an option to turn the timer on and off it you just want to have your item on all the time without needing to take the dial off and store it (and possibly lose it if you are like me and only need it seasonally). It's nice that it does have 2 outlets available if you need it. I did only give it 4 stars because of the fact that it is bulky, I can't just put it anywhere. Where I have my tank I can only use one of the two outlets. This function would be perfect though it you were needing it for lights.

I purchased this because my other one was way too programmable. It had over 20 options per day, and it also grouped days. No matter how much I thought I had it figured out, the light pligg3d into the timer will go on/off at what seemed like random times. This timer is simple to use and very straightforward. I love that its easy to turn on/off outside the scheduled times, is easy to adjust for daylight savings, and also easy to adjust the schedule.

I was struggling when I first got this it wasn’t working then I read the instructions again about 5 times and figured out that the red slider switch on the side has to be slid down which shows an icon of a clock, after that this works great!!!

Instructions were very clear and easy to follow which made this timer very easy to set up. Literally a minute or less. Push down the pins for the time that you want it be on and the turn the centre dial to the current time. Way easier to set than the one it is replacing! It is sturdy and feels like good quality and worked perfectly the first time I plugged it in. It's completely silent I love that it has 2 spots for plugs although I am currently only using one. It has shown to be very accurate over the last few days and it was a totally worthwhile purchase. I'm very happy with it.
