Carolina Plantation Aromatic Rice, 32 Oz

I grew up in rice country, and love rice of all iterations. I have purchased many different varieties through Carolina Plantation, and they are always of the quality described, and am happy with the overall quality and texture - always being as described, and as expected.

The rice was very good. Aromatic and cooked perfectly.

Wow! This rice is so flavorful! Yes it is expensive, but I consider this a special treat. This rice is great as a side dish which allows you to enjoy its delicate flavor. Don’t think of this as a standard any day rice that you’ll smother in a sauce, please don’t smother it in a sauce. It’s to good of a product to treat it that way! I recommend melting a little butter in the pan and toasting the rice in the melted butter on medium heat. Once it gives off a nice popcorn aroma, pour in your water or broth (standard 2 parts liquid to 1 part rice), bring to a boil, reduce to low cover and cook for 15 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let it finish cooking for another 15 minutes. Now you have some superbly special rice to enjoy with your meal!

Holy mother of...yes. The most flavorful rice I have ever had. Eaten plain it is distinctive and delicious. The grains do not stick together or get mushy. If you follow the directions exactly is on the package it comes out perfect. I was inspired by the Netflix documentary "High on the Hog" that traces the history of slavery and African-Americans impact on American cuisine. Rice from South Carolina was shown in this show and in other shows I have seen about the history of American cooking and cuisine (namely "Gullah" cuisine). Now I know why. Staples such as this are the backbone upon which so many dishes can be built. Just like so much of America and our cuisine is built on the backs of the working class...the poor... African-Americans...immigrants... So too must we understand our history. The flavor I taste is more than just rice. The flavor I taste is history...an INCREDIBLE product and company.

A great rice, although a little expensive for us. Still, its great.

Cooked according to directions, add a pat of butter, this is the best rice I have ever had in my 76 years in the South! There is an aroma and taste that is tantalizing!

We just love (!) this aromatic rice. We searched for high quality brands of “sticky” rice and found a few. For a decade now, and following a family reunion in Charleston, South Carolina, when we stumbled upon this remarkable American brand, my bride insists I buy only this rice. It’s worth it.
