They are easy to assemble. Whether other reviewers are correct regarding them being brighter than those sold at local big-box stores, I don't know. But, they are bright, and we are pleased with the amount of light they emit. We did have one problem so far. One of the eight lights had a bad battery. It only held charge long enough to run the light for an hour or two (I didn't time it). At first I thought the light had just quit. Fortunately, these are designed to allow the AA rechargeable battery to be replaced. I substituted an Eneloop AA for the bad battery. The light came on again no problem. I put the suspect battery in a smart charger, and the charger indicated the battery was bad. I am now wondering how many of the other batteries will suffer the same fate. We've only had these out for about a week and really like them. Instead of returning them over one bad battery we are willing to substitute all the provided batteries with Eneloops to ensure good operation. For the price, I would have thought quality batteries would have been included. Maybe this one was just a fluke? Don't know. Would I buy again? Probably. I had no problem putting them in the ground and do not know why others complained the stake breaks. Hard ground maybe? UPDATE: The light that was malfunctioning was not the product of a bad battery as I originally thought. The solar panel on the light will not charge the battery. Even with a full-charged eneloop battery replacement, the light does not charge. Unfortunately, I do not believe I can repair that problem. I have contacted the company as I am past the return window (purchased while doing landscaping and did not install for over a month). We really like these lights. It is too bad a few have some problems. UPDATE: The company already contacted me and is sending a new top for the light. Other reviews indicated this company stands behind this product, and they do! I am so glad. My wife and I love these lights and plan to purchase another set to add more to our property. I am changing my rating to five stars. These are nice, and the seller is stellar. UPDATE 4/26/2023 - Three years later, and I ordered another set of eight. The good about these lights is that they work well. They are attractive and put out good light. Also, they have replaceable 18650 batteries, but after three years the first set of eight lights works well with the same included batteries. I only ordered eight more now because a couple of the originals looks a bit worn, and I could use a few more. Unfortunately, this latest shipment included yet another defective light. These lights have a defuser in the bottom of the lens that helps spread the light emitted by the led in the top. One of the lights had the defuser rattling around inside the glass lens due to its plastic mount being broken. Clearly, this appears to be damage caused at the factory. Hopefully, the company will again make it right. Otherwise, these are really good lights.

*NEW AND FINAL UPDATE - I received an entire new set of lights from the seller and all of these lights are perfect - absolutely PERFECT! I cannot thank the seller enough for sending these lights. They are bright and are all just as they should be. Thank you! Updated after Seller reached out to me after reading about my problems with the lights. After messaging back and forth about the possible resolutions, seller has agreed to send me replacements lights for the ones that were not working correctly. I appreciate the seller standing behind their products because I know there are many who have been very happy with them. I also want to note that after charging for a couple of weeks, out lights are staying on much longer and are very bright. I am completely pleased with this result. Overall, since the seller made the effort to make good on their product, I have adjusted my review rating. Original: When I received, three of the 8 lights already had the pieces of paper missing that you pull to activate the batteries and one of the lights had the battery compartment open with the battery loose in the package. It does not fit securely in the compartment; I had to tape it for it to stay closed. One of the lights had the glass part of the light detached from the other part of the top and a small piece of the top where it is screwed on is broken. I used super glue to try and fix this, but it would not stay on when we put the glass part on. The light still attaches with this part missing. In conclusion, we charged the lights in the sun before using as per the directions and 6 of the lights work when it is dark. They do not stay only for very long; do not know if this will improve? Two of the lights do not work at all.

Update: Almost September of 2026 and still going strong! Somewhere between this update and my first review, I replaced the batteries with rechargeable ones. They've been lighting up perfectly every evening. Love these things! Will be buying more for my garden path and would highly recommend! I got these in April 2024, so next month will be a year that I've had them. They still have the original batteries in them (that came with them) and still light up perfectly every night! Even on the color changing setting. These are very bright lights, we live way out in the country and they've helped tremendously to light our walkways and front porch. The globes are thick, heavy duty glass, the tops and posts are metal which makes for all-around sturdy lights. We have dogs, kids, even a zero turn mower etc that have bumped them and they've held up to everything. Super easy to assemble and install. One thing I didn't like though are the spikes that came with them. I went ahead and ordered heavier spikes for mine and it made a huge difference in their stability. I'm totally in love with the color changing feature, they're so pretty! I definitely plan to purchase more. Well worth the money, you won't be disappointed!

After several years of great service from these lights, some had begun to fail. So, based on past performance, I ordered a second set of 8. I'm sorry to say that while the new lights are satisfactory, they are NOTHING like the first set (I still have a few of that first set in working order). The newer lights, while offering some features the first set didn't, are NO WHERE near as bright as the originals. The newer features are something I could care less about. But to be fair, some may like what they offer. Those newer features is to offer two alternative operating modes: an RGB color cycling mode, and a permanent "color" mode, which appears to only offer the alternative color of red. Nominally the lights offer a cool (bright) white, as opposed to a warmer "yellowish" white. The originals were also a cool bright white. But the biggest thing is the significant lack of brightness in the newer light set. It would be fair to say that I feel, subjectively, that the new lights offer only maybe one quarter to one third of the brightness from the originals set. In fact, the few remaining lights I have from that first set are - after several years - considerably brighter than the newer ones. So, overall, while they do the job for which I intended them (they are merely backyard "accent" lights, and NOT walkway lights!), I can't say I will be ordering another set for another location any time soon; if ever. (If these had been ordered to provide actual walkway illumination, they would be a major disappointment!) Take from this review what you will. I've tried to be as honest and truthful as I can here. These lights may be fine for your intended purpose, they are just a tad bit disappointing to me after the experience I had with my first set. Edit: After only 5 days in service, one of the set of 8 lights quit working! I am writing to the company now to see about "We offer replacement in 24 hours!" pitch on the front of the product manual. Edit #2: Heard back from the seller today. They are sending TWO replacement light heads to me. I only had ONE that had gone bad after a few short days in service. These guys are the real deal when it comes to backing up their product. As a result, I've bumped my original rating up a point.

I expect better than a 12.5% failure rate on a set of new ground lights, but one of the lights failed in less than 10 days of use. All the lights solar collectors got charged with at least three full days of intense sun exposure. Seven of the 8 have worked reliably. First I moved the faulty light back into a more direct sunlight location and gave it a full extra day of bright sun exposure; it still would not work. Switched the battery from the faulty light to one that was working and put the good battery in the faulty light. Let the faulty light charge with direct sun another full day; it still did not work. The faulty light's battery worked fine in the other light. I'd like the manufacturer to send me one, new light to replace the faulty one. Otherwise, I'm happy with these lights -- good brightness, stainless steel looks classy, and the light pattern is interesting. I paid for 8 new lights. If I don't get the new light, I'll return the 8 I have for a refund. UPDATED REVIEW on July 25, 2024. Beau Jardin said they'd replace a part they thought was likely the problem. Instead, they sent another box of 8 of these lights. However, they might be the/an older model because they have only one light-color mode (white), but I didn't like the look of the non-white anyway; I appreciate the other colors might be preferred in some situations. Since I am using only the white-light mode, I'm very pleased, so far, to have received 8 complete lights (rather than some part for just the one that was faulty from the original box). I should refrain from updating this quickly from a durability perspective, but since I think the company went above and beyond by sending me 8 more new lights (which look identical to the first set and perform the same as far as light pattern and brightness), I'm willing to do this update now. I'm very happy with the lights (so far) and with the companies superb responsiveness to me. The updated rating is now 5 stars. I'll have to explore what other products they sell.

These are high quality, absolutely gorgeous lights. Even my husband commented on the pretty pattern they throw. I love the glass globes, which don't yellow or go opaque with exposure and age, & the extra weight seems to keep them in place better than the plastic sets I've bought in the past. The company's customer support was very responsive to an issue I had with a set I bought that had aged out of warranty. I bought this set to expand my collection and I'm very pleased with them.

These are AWESOME & last a long time. I’ve had these for about 3 years & they are still lasting well & I love the color changes! Size & installation are great too. I am planning on getting some for my front lawn. These are in my backyard.

I am generally happy with these lights. They look good and are well-made. They come with a choice of modes (white light, single color, color-changing) which is kind of cool although I don’t know if I will use it. I have had the lights in use for a couple of weeks in the white light mode. At first they all worked fine but now one of them transitions itself to color-changing after being on for a couple of hours. If not for this I would have given them a 5-star review.
