This is exactly what the title says: a beginner's English course which is suitable for adults being taught in a class .The language is basic and graded so leads the learner toward gradual progress. There is sufficient repletion for the student to get adequate practice at the level whether he/she is a real or false beginner. Easy for the teacher to use also.

From 'Beginners' to 'Advanced', this is a carefully thought out, imaginative and lively series. It is very agreeably presented with well-laid out pages and coloured illustrations. Explanations are clear and there is a good progression. It would suit any foreigners wanting to learn English, from 16 to 60+; I have been using the series with a group of retired French adults for the last eight years. My one criticism would be of the dialogues on the CD: they are of natural speech but sometimes the speakers do not articulate well or have a difficult accent. It is often necessary to listen to the CD while looking at the text (given at the back of the book).

I have used this course for several years and I think it's well thought out. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced gradually and revised in future chapters. It has proved to be useful with a wide range of students.

The speaking in this CD is for the more advanced student and introduces a more natural way of speaking English. It's not as good as real-life face to face situations but is a reasonable substitute in a classroom situation.

It arrived in original sellophane and at a fraction of original price. An excellent buy.
