Caused Cox to acknowledge and fix service
After 2.5 years of constant daily outages on two Gigablast lines to our home which made any more than a single stream of a home security camera, or Zoom to cripple both lines. This simple cheap box, less than 1/2 the monthly fee to Cox, finally forced them to acknowledge the issue was on their end. Not just that, it justified their top-brass in network support to authorize upgrading our entire neighborhood. Data rarely lies when it’s this detailed, unbiased, complete and transparently presented. At first I was underwhelmed, the UI is deceptively simple. But as time passed the simplicity of the UI gave way to the real value which is the data AND the methodology of its collection (low bandwidth, high-frequency, standard/non-custom protocols, multiple public clouds geographically distributed). This methodology alone makes a network admin realize they have NOWHERE to hide their failures. Just know, if you have any issues on your end it will lay those bare too… but that’s worth it if it helps. If you are reading this you know you need it, just buy it, wait a few days and let the data do the rest. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent product for monitoring internet service provider’s service
This device is notifying me each time the speed is lessened and each time there is an outage. The date is very useful in seeing what the service provider is doing with my service. For example, it was out of service every 15 minutes for 6 times in a row on Sunday. I guess that is when SuddenLink is resting or resting equipment. Valuation information for dealing with the carrier... excellent customer service in setting up the unit. I bought a used one from amazon and the previous owner did not reset it, so customer service at Monitor I-O had to do so. I was up and operational in a very short period of time. Kudos.

Works great, simple setup, valuable data
I bought my first unit on kickstarter and have been using it for more than a year. I love this device. I know exactly which devices are on my network, how it's performing, and when I have trouble with my Optimum cable service (regularly), I can prove it's THEIR network that is at fault, not something in my house. I just bought my second unit on amazon for my vacation home..... Thank you for this product!!!

Three beers shy…
I was extremely hopeful for this product, however it delivers too little information for the setup effort and network overhead. It really only does one thing well …providing information on your internet connection’s stability and uptime. However it provides only vague details as to the cause of the variances and outages. Also, the device discovery process is too unreliable and difficult for IOT devices that cannot be easily powered off and on for the (manual) discovery scans or devices which constantly enter power saving sleep modes. Devices which cannot be discovered, cannot be monitored…so setting 10 devices to be monitored resulted in only 4 devices actually being monitored, (I think.) For me the solution is 4 beers shy of a full six pack. I will look forward to firmware improvements in the future but for now it’s tech on the shelf. That said, if you are looking for a full time display of your internet service uptime or how often it goes down then this device will help you…then again if you need this device…might be time to get a different service provider.

Fantastic!
I absolutely think these things are great!!! The tech support has been fantastic when I had some questions.. I put these in place to help my staff. This less technical understand. Basically when things are down or not they can simply tell me. What color is the box is the box I ask them... green, violet or red? I'm using two of these right now but I think I'm going to get two more and place them at various points in my network and then I'll have them labeled. It'll be easy to understand what is going on when we have issues.

Client having issues w primary ISP & surprise, nothing wrong - this box is solid, really recommend
I deployed a Fing Box initially but there is no WiFi on the data VLAN and could not talk to the Fing. I really like the end of the month ISP report from the Fing but no good on Ethernet. When I bought the Fing they used to offer tech support well now it appears to be forums. The I/O Monitor has tech support and they are solid, they know the product and it just works. Hit it with a browser to see what is going on, setup email alerts to trip on various conditions and the box has an LCD screen which displays different colors based upon current connection. I bought one a deployed client site and bought another unit for home, really recommend. 11/19/2020 **Update*** At this point I have one unit that was DOA, the replacement unit has been removed from service due to frequent locks which requires power cycle to clear the lockup and also as of late unit is providing false outages. Have not received any response from support regarding the last couple tickets, not sure if the business is still open??

Meh - It’s okay, but not recommended
Honestly, I regret buying it. I was having major issues with my Internet service provider, and I thought this would be a solution to prove to them the issues that I was having. It works most of the time, but very often the color-coded display does not function properly. The web app is definitely not updated or as useful as I anticipated. Would not recommend a purchase unless they start selling it for less than $25.

Internet Monitor WOW
I was having an issue with my internet provider and couldn't tell if it was the internet cable or my modem. This equipment is freaking amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone having internet connection problems. This device tells you more details on the internet than you ever want to know. In my case, it was the internet provider. They ended up coming and switching my line.
