This was bought for my office and is so much nicer then the antiquated machine I used to use. So easy to replace the cartridge rather than re-inking the ribbon of the old machine. This also adds all the amounts that you printed. Which is a wonderful option. I hope this help in your decision when looking for a embosser.

Operations manual confusing. Poor grammar and misspell words. Feels like a 5 year old child wrote the manual.

This Check Writer is your basic machine. It took me less than five minutes to read the phamplet, plug it in, and print out an amount on my check. The price was right and it included two extra ink cartridges. But keep in mind that it only prints out the amount in numbers - NOT IN WORDS. It also does not print out the Pay To information. Just numbers. Up to 14 numbers. Is suppose to keep a running total of checks and amount, but I haven't use it yet. Just tried it out. Oh, it does have a security pass code. So only the person(s) who know the code can use the machine. I like it and plan on using it often.

I have tried reaching out twice. Once through Amazon and another time through the support on their website and I haven't gotten anything back. I would not purchase again. When printing checks, you need it to show the correct amount, not something that looks like a letter. Our check was rejected from a business!

Got this for my dad because he had been using the same check writer for many many years and it was so ancient he couldn't even get ink or ribbon or whatever it took anymore. He really loves it and appreciates how much less effort it takes than his old heavy pull the lever check writer that he had to pull out to use. He couldn't stop telling me how much he loves it and how much easier it is for him to use. I must add that Amazon has been grade A awesome in helping me. I won't be buying from anyone else. They stand by their stuff and that means a lot!! Love Amazon. Wish I could marry Amazon.

love it .. well worth the money

The item didn't work and I had to return it,so I was unable to see how it functioned. Probably I should had not purchased a reconditioned item.

Works as advertised

1st order : Checkwriter wouldn't even boot. Returned it Replacement order #1 : Never arrived Replacement order #2 : Oh this time it's booting ! I put a sheet of paper in it to adjust it and suddently the paper is jammed, the machine start to overheat and it start smelling like the motor is burning. I turn it off, motor won't stop forcing. I unplug it, motor stop running but the paper is still solid jammed. I reboot it and ... It won't boot anymore :D I tried to open it and remove the paper but after it still won't boot. Pretty quick way to lose 200$.
