Perfect replacement for my burnt out drill/screw driver
I had a Search Craftsman drill for about 12 years. It worked well but didn't have a keyless chuck. This one does! And, man, is that convenient or what! Also the Sears drill finally died after I tried using it with a cement mixer attachment that I got at the Home Depot. It never had any power issues with anything else and was way more powerful than a much more expensive yellow DeWalt cordless drill that I got a chance of using once while putting screws into a cement board before putting down the tile on it. But note that the Sears one was only 3 AMPS and THIS ONE IS 5+ AMPS! Now, I am not going to attempt to mix any cement with it (lesson learned), but while using it for everything else, it seems well made and works really well - just as expected. So I am happy I didn't pay twice as much or more for another brand. This one is perfect! For my purposes (rental property maintenance, etc.) I can't see how a more expensive one would perform any better. And I really don't have any need for a cordless. Everywhere where I work there is an outlet somewhere and I have a long orange extension cable and don't have to worry about charging batteries. I am a big fan of corded drills unless you work somewhere where the A/C power is not there (which has not been the case with me yet). All-in-all quality plus a low price (and even regardless of the price which was $25, btw) 5-stars undoubtedly.

Great Replacement for my Cordless Drill
I only use drill for DIY projects I have at home. I used to have a cordless drill who finally bit the dust, I love my cordless drill but I always have to plan ahead of time when I needed to do something that needed a drill as I have to recharge the battery. This time I decided on a corded drill so that I don't have to wait for battery to charge and re-charge. I got the product yesterday and played with it. It feels solid and more powerful than my old drill. The only thing is that there is no torque control so I have to be careful on the trigger to control the speed to avoid damaging the screw heads. On my old drill, I will adjust the torque and not worry about putting too much power on the drill as it will automatically disengage when the screw has no more place to go.The box comes with the drill, philips/flat head screw and a bag that will fit the drill (in V position). The bag has enough space to carry some drill bits and tools. It also have 3 pouch on the outside. It does not come with any drill bit. I have my old set so, no problem here.

Much better than a cordless drill for the casual user.
Almost all of the drills that sell better than this one are cordless, two of which I had previously owned. I'm not sure why I kept ignoring a simple corded version, but I'm much happier now that I have it. I'm a casual user at best, so it seemed like every time I needed to drill something I would have to plug it in and wait for it to charge. And on the days where I actually used it a lot, it would inevitably get weaker and weaker as the battery slowly died. The biggest annoyance that I have found is that the carrying bag is just a bit too small to fit the drill unless you go out of your way to angle it in.

Great Value, Great product
I don't know how this thing doesn't have all 5 stars. I got it fast, and you literally just plug it in and it works. Comes with phillips head/flat head connection and a really nice tote bag. It has enough power to easily screw into wood and old plaster walls with ease. Should've bought this thing 5 years ago.EDIT:So, I've had this for about a year. I easily built a bed frame with it using 3 and 4 inch deck screws. It drilled them in with ease. This is a very powerful drill. I have used it many times and have had no problems.

Adequate tool for use around the house
After over 10 years of cordless, I decided to go electric again. I rarely use the drill outside of the house. When I use it outside the house it will be near the outlets. Otherwise, I have plenty of cords and extensions to go with it.My last B&D failed at the keyless chuck. But I decided to go with it again because it lasted many years at least so it's not bad at all for the price.Without the battery actually the drill is more manoeuvrable because it is lighter and smaller at the handle. You don't worry about losing power and charging the battery. Your workbench won't be clogged up by the charger or one socket is occupied.Without the battery the drill bit being held on the drill is exposed a bit. It can scratch you as shown in the picture. The bag is actually a good idea as I don't need to spend time putting the drill back in it's case and wind the cord. I just dump everything in the bag together with the drill bits. However, the bag is a little small so you have to force the zippers a little bit no matter how you place the drill. Deduct one star for the silliness. [update: actually the bag fits if you put in in one way rather than the other. Still, I know what a very good drill is; my drill before last is pretty good.]The drill itself is like most drills, powerful enough because of the absence of battery, reversible at the push of a slide switch. Variable speed and hence power is controlled by the switch. It's good in the sense that my last cordless has a dial of 10 positions for drilling and driving. I suspect that they don't have variable gears inside anymore. It could be good as my drill before last failed at the gears. But cars need gears even though it can be automatic. For now the VSR switch seems to be sufficient for me, convenient and fairly intuitive too.

Excellent brand name, nicely priced, powerful, keyless chuck, variable speed, reverseable drilling. Recommended.
For many years I loved having a cordless re-chargeable drill. After all, they are convenient to use without needing a power cord. However, if the battery charge is down, or old, it will not work, and many are not as powerful. I am back to corded drills. This one is economically priced ($10 less than Lowe's or Wal-Mart or an equivalent). It's a brand name, ruggid, and powerful.. The only thing I don't care for is the air shooting out left & right sides, but needed, after all, to keep the motor cool and from burning out. This is the best deal I could find. Recommended.
