I read all the reviews on this and was concerned about not being able to replace the filter but that is completely untrue. You can get a replacement from the company or get an off brand one on amazon for about $15 for 2(greater savings if you buy more) This thing works great, it's quiet, and I love that the paper is filter instead of the expensive plastic framed one I was using for my last one. Plus I paid less than $40. I am going to buy more and replace my other ones.When I got it the first thing I did was open up the filter compartment which opens easily with a button on the front. The fan keeps the filter in place but there is also a plastic bar on the top and the bottom to keep it secure. Its easy to pull them out and put them back. I bought a carbon filter to put on top so I put that on and put the plastic things back on so everything was nice and secure.The filter that comes with it has an arrow that says which way the filter goes in. The outside has a slight plasticized surface so that it's easy to vacuum. The inside feels more like plastic. If you look in the light you can easily see the difference. I bought some replacements too because they came with the carbon filters I wanted to use. They didn't have an arrow but you can tell which is the outside by looking at them.I have this in the basement because it's dusty down there since it's unfinished and the concrete just tends to be dusty. I only got one of them but I think I might get another one for the other side of the basement to keep it cleaner down there.It has three settings. Low, medium, and high. If you were putting this in a bedroom you can barely hear it on low but you can feel the airflow. For our basement I put it on medium. I think the high setting is a bit loud but could be used if you were vacuuming and doing things to raise dust and wanted it to work on full speed while you were doing it.You can set it upright or on it's side. I like how it looks standing up and it has a base you can remove, and reinstall easily. For using horizontally there are four sticky feet you can apply. I am running mine horizontally because the airflow seems better that way. When placed that way the air comes in through the front and blows straight up from the back. I like this for our basement because it draws air in from the floor and then throws it up in the air. If it put it upright the air could come in through the front and blow out only on one side. I guess it depends on your room how you want to place it. I left the stand on even though I am using it on it's side because I may change my mind if I get another one and place one on either side of the room. I just left it attached so I won't have to worry about losing it.I just started using this and already the air quality seems better in the basement and also it should keep dust down in the whole house because we do have vents in the basement from our furnace and that air ends up coming up the stairs.I left a lot of photos to show how this things works. We purchased a new home last year that is in a woodier area and we did not realize how much more pollen would get in the house verses where we previously lived which was closer to the beach. My husband and I suffer from allergies and our children do as well. Since moving in, the kids were having a hard time with post nasal drip and a stuffy nose. We have always had air purifiers in almost every room of our home and since the pollen is higher than we are used too, I decided to purchase 3 of these purifiers for our kid’s bedrooms. We keep them on the nightstand, close to them so, that it will help them at night and they also love the sound because, it helps them fall asleep.Since purchasing these air purifiers, they are sleeping much better. Their post nasal drip and stuffy nose has subsided and they just feel better overall. None of them are coughing all night long like they were prior to purchasing these units. Poor things really did suffer in the evening. We are all very impressed with how this little purifier has helped them tremendously. This was a great purchase and am so glad that we went with this brand.When placing this on the nightstand or any surface you can keep it horizontally or vertically, either way it works the same. I like that you have the option of how you want to place it depending on how much surface room is available. There are 3 speeds with level 1 being the lowest and 3 being the highest. I must say that level 3 has some serious power to it and works at purifying the whole bedroom. At night, my kids like to leave it between level 1-2 and when they are gone for the day, I turn it up to level 3 so that when they get home, the air in their room is clean. You can really feel the difference in the air when you walk in at night. This little machine does its job and works very well.Once a month, I take out the filter and run the vacuum over it. It removes dust, pollen and anything else that is stuck to it. Then I just snap it back in and it works like a champ. I don’t have to worry about having to buy expensive filters each month. This is a huge money saver and I really like that.To sum up my review, this air purifier has made a huge difference in my children’s bedroom. It has helped them sleep better and has kept their allergies at bay. They no longer cough at night or wake up with a stuffy nose. The price is amazing and worth every penny. This is an air purifier that I would recommend to others for sure.

Es un buen purificador. No hace mucho ruido. Lo puedes usar para dormir en la modalidad más silenciosa y no te molestará. Por otro lado, las otras dos funciones (media y alta) sí hacen algo de ruido. Es muy práctico ya que no requiere configuración. Se instala en un par de minutos sin problema. Se siente el aire más puro. Tengo medidores de CO2 y de Componentes Volátiles Orgánicos (VOC) y sí he medido la diferencia en la calidad del aire al usarlo. Sobre todo cuando limpio o cocino que se generan olores o vapores, los filtra muy eficientemente.Lo recomiendo por su costo y calidad.

Silencioso en el primer nivel, bastante bien por el. Precio pagado. Lo uso en la recámara de mi hijo que sufre de alergias y Sí que ha hecho gran diferencia. Muy recomendable.

I've had this unit for 4 years and it still works amazing! Recently moved into a house and I am having breathing issues. I sleep with this in my room and it helps so much. You can tell the air is clean and fresh. Now I need to find a bigger unit just as good for larger rooms! Not sure what I would have done without this unit.

El filtro tiene 3 velocidades: silencioso, medio y alto. La alta si es ruidosa en realidad y en las instrucciones dice que no se debe dejar tanto tiempo funcionando en alta. La perilla para controlarlas es manual. No se puede programar nada automático. No tiene sensor de índice de ppm como otros. Se puede usar vertical u horizontal. Para usarlo vertical hay que ensamblar una base adicional. Es muy ligero. La calidad de materiales es media - baja. El marco del filtro es de papel cartulina. Si filtra polvo pero no filtra partículas más pequeñas ni sirve para eliminar olores. A dos meses de funcionamiento en velocidad media, el aparato sigue trabajando bien. Lo tengo encendido 24/7. Noto que se ha formado una capa gruesa de polvo encima del aparato y el filtro originalmente blanco ya es café. Sé que los filtros de aire han subido mucho de precio pero creo que lo que recibes es menos de lo que pagas por este.
