You can microwave until hot, but not too long. Or use a professional donut warmer such as a belshaw icing table. If you warm in a crackpot type warmer you have to really watch it, if you warm for too long and it gets too hot it will crystallize and be ruined

For a long time. Sugar is a natural preservative. The product may get stiff over years, but if you warm it up, it should be fine. It smells great, by the way.
