The alarm system is awesome! It is so loud It should wake me up at night if someone tries to break in. It’s easy to put in place. Gives you an added sense of security.

LOUD!...but has a problem
I just got back from Mexico for 9 days. My first day I hadn't even unpacked in my hotel room and the mini bar guy came into my room to check the drinks. I had the door locked but it didn't have a latch. This was an upscale, adults only hotel in Playa del carmen, built in 2018. Very nice place. It was a large 1000 square foot approximately master suite and I was in the bathroom in the bedroom I didn't hear any knocking. There was a seperate living room and entry door. The room had a door bell and he didn't use that. I dug this out right away and started using it all the time I was in the room. No more issues after that. I accidentally opened the door with this activated and it was a very loud surprise when it went off. It gave me piece of mind when I slept. Here's the bad. I stayed at 2 hotels during my stay. They both had marble floors and this device did not keep the door from opening during my testing. It slid along the floor at both hotels. I even took a towel and wiped the area on the floor I was using this just in case there was something on the floor and it still slid. It slid slowly but it slid. It should not have slid I would take this with me on vacation again but if I was worried about the door being forced open while this was going off I would get something else or something additional to prevent the door from being opened. I am a vine reviewer but bought this for my vacation with my money

TSA thinks it is a bomb 💣 😆
This product is great, and it does provide a sense of security for traveling alone, or anytime really. One drawback I recently discovered is that TSA does NOT like how this item looks on their scan. Do not suggest packing in carry-on luggage, as you will get grilled, and might even shut down the entire line while all of security comes to respond to evaluate the possible shoe bomb. No issue with the item in checked luggage, but just providing the heads up in the event that you plan to pack it in your carry-on luggage. The alarm is LOUD, and functions as advertised.

Perfect purchase
This thing is FABULOUS! Very easy to use. Just turn it on and sit it on the floor at the door (like an old-timey door stop) and if the door is opened, the alarm goes off. And it is very loud and "alarming." Would make any intruder flee the scene immediately. No joke. If you live alone, a must have.

You have to manually turn it off once it's triggered - very bad with dogs around.
I bought this thinking it was like the others we have, which make noise when you press them but stop when they are let go. These only have an on/off switch, and once it's on if you press them on accident they will not go off until you switch it to 'off'. I had given one to my dad to use, but after triggering it the first time and realizing it never goes off without manual input, I told him to just throw it away and I'd get him a different one. My dogs live with him and we both agreed it's not a good solution for someone who has pets. Pros: Does work. If it's just me, I use this in front of my bedroom door at night. Very loud! Cons: Must be switched 'off' to get it to stop making noise - this kills the ears because you have to be so close to it. Very un-friendly for animals because of the above. Imagine you accidentally leave it on, your dog somehow triggers it, and you're not back home for hours. For that reason I can't recommend this for pet owners.

Works well for a long time.
Works good like it's supposed to. I have a couple of these and have had some for many years. Since I know they work well and the battery lasts for a very long time, I stick to this brand. I'm dancin' with the one that brung me. I got this one for a friend.

Took this on touring holiday of Vietnam and Cambodia and as two women travelling we definitely felt safer in our rooms, would use when staying anywhere UK included, set it off by accident a couple of times when forgot it was under the door and it is really loud!!!!

Purchased these for traveling, as I assume most do. We've used them for close to a year now in hotels both in Canada and the US, and Air BnB's. They work in two ways: 1) The metal plate completes a circut which trips a loud alarm 2) The wedge shape allows for blocking of doors that open inward by jamming the door "up" and binding up the hinges, barring physical entry. This is dependent on a few factors: The door opens inward The door is at a proper enough height to facilitate such an action The floor surface is grippy enough to not allow the device to slide. They work absolutely well, with a few caveats, but first the positives. Pros: The are loud (almost debilitating in small rooms) , don't take up a lot of room and are pretty simple to use. Cons: They won't fit under all doors due to the height of them. Some doors are too low, others too high. On some surfaces they will slide, because you can't get a good wedge because pushing it too far under the door will trip the sensor. By attaching two together with an elastic band, I have managed to make them go off, but not block the door to an effectiveness level that I felt comfortable with. They would work well for waking occupants, provided those occupants are prepared to do something about those person or persons are gaining entry. As a simple stand-alone deterrent, I'd rate them on a 3/10. They won't stop someone determined to gain entry, but they will keep the honest crooks or mistaken housekeeping away with no issues. For improvements on these I would like to see a method of attaching a tripwire/string to them that can allow the same action of a door opening and depressing the metal trigger to trip the alarm. This is useful for times where they won't fit under doors, doors that open outwards (but you'd still like to know when they are opened). Upgraded and expanded grippy material on the bottom to facilitate better sticky action on floors all in all, if you're someone who wants extra piece of mind, one or two of these in your bag is never a bad idea.
