An inexpensive UK hits collection
Some reviewers have complained that this collection contains a lot of filler or cover versions. I think they're missing the point: This is a set of UK 70s hits. More often than not, big hits in London never made it to L.A. (And about those covers, Mud's cover of a Buddy Holly hit reached Number One in Britain, but Joan Jett covered The Arrows' song, not the other way around.)Here are the chart positions, observed times, titles, and artists for these 100 songs. I searched the Billboard (US) and Official Charts Company (UK) sites for the positions; please leave a comment with any additions or corrections.US UK66 07 3:21 Queen Of Clubs - KC & The Sunshine Band02 08 3:24 Right Back Where We Started From - Maxine Nightingale21 30 4:42 Get It Right Next Time - Gerry Raffertyxx 09 3:29 Street Life - Roxy Music26 02 3:14 Let's Work Together - Canned Heatxx xx 2:56 Roxette - Dr. Feelgoodxx xx 3:05 I Love Rock 'n' Roll - The Arrowsxx 03 3:55 48 Crash - Suzi Quatroxx 08 2:58 No More Heroes - The Stranglersxx 01 3:05 Sunday Girl - Blondiexx 05 2:14 Malt And Barley Blues - McGuinness Flintxx 01 2:54 Oh Boy - Mudxx 22 2:54 Boy Oh Boy - Raceyxx 12 3:06 Oh You Pretty Things - Peter Noone40 xx 3:15 I'd Love To Change The World - Ten Years Afterxx 02 3:25 Fog On The Tyne - Lindisfarne72 06 3:21 Freedom Come, Freedom Go - The Fortunesxx 06 2:49 Goodbye Sam, Hello Samantha - Cliff Richard90 31 3:07 Just A Smile - Pilot49 23 3:05 Who Was It? - Hurricane Smithxx 03 4:41 Silver Machine - Hawkwindxx 33 2:44 Apache Drop Out - Edgar Broughton Bandxx xx 3:49 Rock & Roll Music To The World - Ten Years Afterxx 04 3:50 Teacher - Jethro Tull82 07 3:52 I Can't Tell the Bottom From the Top - The Holliesxx 05 3:43 Tap Turns On the Water - C.C.S.xx 06 3:42 Ball Park Incident - Wizzardxx 07 2:53 The Wild One - Suzi Quatroxx 06 4:09 Rocket - Mudxx 10 3:02 Julie Anne - Kennyxx 08 3:02 Touch Too Much - The Arrowsxx 42 3:15 Dancing the Night Away - The Motors95 xx 3:42 Since You've Been Gone - Cherie & Marie Curriexx xx 2:28 Maid In Heaven - Be Bop Deluxexx xx 3:40 She's No Angel - Heavy Metal Kidsxx 34 2:02 She's A Wind Up - Dr. Feelgoodxx 10 3:12 Into the Valley - The Skidsxx 33 3:35 Up Against the Wall - Tom Robinson Band90 xx 2:49 Roxy Roller - Nick Gilderxx xx 2:33 New Girls in the Neighborhood - Chris Spedding85 06 2:42 The Man With the Child in His Eyes - Kate Bush06 02 4:04 The Air That I Breathe - The Hollies82 03 4:14 Lady Eleanor - Lindisfarne08 31 4:57 Year of the Cat - Al Stewartxx 05 4:26 Night Owl - Gerry Raffertyxx 05 4:10 All Around My Hat - Steeleye Span03 04 3:29 Oh, Babe What Would You Say? - Hurricane Smith55 04 3:36 Something - Shirley Basseyxx 13 3:53 I'll Put You Together Again - Hot Chocolatexx 23 2:55 You Can Have It All - George McCrae22 05 3:37 Whodunit - Tavaresxx 14 3:42 More Like the Movies - Dr. Hook01 02 3:29 Rock Me Gently - Andy Kimxx 01 4:36 Mississippi - Pussycatxx 04 2:46 What I've Got in Mind - Billie Jo Spearsxx 03 3:12 The Secrets That You Keep - Mudxx 25 2:36 My Last Night With You - The Arrowsxx 34 3:04 Call Me Round - Pilotxx 04 3:03 Power to All Our Friends - Cliff Richard50 xx 2:41 No Chance - Moon Martinxx 10 2:55 Pyjamarama - Roxy Musicxx 14 3:45 Wow - Kate Bushxx 11 3:20 Tonight - The Movexx 39 3:41 Urban Guerilla - Hawkwindxx 39 4:48 Out Demons Out - Edgar Broughton Bandxx 49 2:39 Sugar Bee - Canned Heatxx 48 3:17 Down at the Doctors - Dr. Feelgoodxx 10 3:29 Na Na Na - Cozy Powellxx xx 4:36 Don't Take No For An Answer - Tom Robinson Band27 02 3:07 Dreaming - Blondiexx 09 3:37 Something Better Change - The Stranglersxx 14 2:48 Masquerage - The Skidsxx xx 3:44 Delirious - Heavy Metal Kidsxx xx 2:53 My Teenage Queen - Harpoxx xx 3:15 Video Life - Chris Speddingxx 23 4:03 Ships in the Night - Be Bop Deluxe16 xx 3:17 I'm On Fire - Dwight Twilley Band44 xx 3:04 Here Comes the Night - Nick Gilder01 xx 3:28 We're An American Band - Grand Funk Railroad29 04 3:01 Softly Whispering I Love You - The (English) Congregation01 02 3:21 Lovin' You - Minnie Ripertonxx 11 4:27 I Don't Wanna Lose You - The Kandidatexx 01 3:50 Uptown Top Ranking - Althea & Donnaxx 06 2:43 The Tears of a Clown - The Beat88 xx 3:12 Baby Get It On - Ike & Tina Turnerxx 25 3:26 Brother - C.C.S.46 11 3:34 Do What You Wanna Do - T-Connection14 23 8:40 Movin' - Brass Constructionxx 11 2:48 Love Hit Me - Maxine Nightingalexx 20 3:41 Spanish Stroll - Mink DeVillexx 07 3:15 Storm in a Teacup - The Fortunes35 34 2:12 Boogie Shoes - KC & The Sunshine Band34 04 3:40 Don't Take Away the Music - Tavares01 03 3:37 Boogie Oogie Oogie - A Taste of Honey50 09 3:09 I Can't Leave You Alone - George McCrae06 12 4:02 Every 1's a Winner - Hot Chocolate58 15 3:00 You're My Everything - Lee Garrett06 32 2:52 This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) - Natalie Colexx 30 3:19 Dancin' Easy - Danny Williams07 xx 2:28 Never My Love - Blue Swede

Not what I expected. The memories from that time ...
Not what I expected. The memories from that time were not on these cd's. A lot of them were not main steam songs, but seemed to be fill in's to make up for the lack of hit's I feel should have been on them. My mistake was not to look at the menue of songs before I asked for the CD'S. This seems to be true of the other CD'S I purchased from Amazon. Is it the fault of the seller(?) or the consumer? A little of both, I will be more aware of what I purchase in the future ' as far as music goes. Shame on me for beleaving the hipe and not doing my own research.

Disco, Punk/New Wave, Prog Rock, Glam, Folk, Soul.... hier findet man jedes Genre der 70er. Diverse Top 10 Hits und ein paar Nr. 1 Hits garantieren Hörspaß und ein Eintauchen in die Nostalgie ist garantiert.Anspieltipps: "Street life", "No more heroes", "Teacher", "Julie Ann", "The wild one", "Man with the child in his eyes", "Lady Eleanor", "Year of the cat", "I`ll put you together again", "Masquerade", "Movin" und meine Lieblingsballade aus den 70er, "Lovin` you".

I'll get'cha, you bet'cha!
It was a case of looking at the tracklist and making an immediate decision that went: Yup, I fancy this! The album's just turned up and I stood there sighing over the songs again. I can't wait to get this on me playlist. I mean, look at it: From the likes of Shirley Bassey to Roxy Music, and just about everything in between. This is yet another of those stunning 100 Hits albums which, by now, I've got quite a stash of.Nice going, compilers. You've thrown some real surprises in here. I'm well impressed.

'MANY FAVOURITE SOUNDS FROM THE 70's ON BOARD'
Again it's fair to say there is a shed-load of favourite acts of the day not includedwithin this 5-CD compilation. However as the headline suggests there are many, many favourite tracks to enjoy.Obviously on a compilation such as this you'll never get 100 tracks that you like, however if there is a large percentage that you do like, at the current price of just£5.00, frankly you can't go wrong. For collectors there is unlikely to be any hard-to-find material on board....however,for me, what is on board and the track order makes for many hours of great listening. As I usually do, i'll pin-point a few tracks from each of the discs that may assist yourdecision to purchase or not..........on disc one....'Maxine Nightingale' --'Right BackWhere we Started From'....'Roxy Music' --'Street Life'....'Mud' --'Oh Boy'....'Ten YearsAfter' --'I'd Love To Change The World'....'Cliff Richard' --'Goodbye Sam Hello Samantha'....and....'Hurricane Smith' --'Who Was It'......just a few examples of the sounds on discone......on disc two.....'Hawkwind' --'Silver Machine'....'The Hollies' --'I Can't Tell the Bottomfrom the Top'....'Wizard' --'Ball Park Incident'....'The Motor's' --'Dancing the Night Away...'.'Kenny' --'Julie Anne'....'Tom Robinson Band' --'Up Against the Wall'.....and....'ChrisSpedding' --'New Girl in the Neighbourhood'.........some of the great sounds to enjoy ondisc two..........on disc three.....'Kate Bush' --'Man with the Child in his Eyes'....'Lindisfarne'--'Lady Eleanor'....'Steeleye Span' --'All Around my Hat'....'Hot Chocolate' --'I'll Put youTogether Again'....'Dr Hook' --'More Like the Movies'....'Andy Kim' --'Rock me Gently'....and...'Cliff Richard' --'Power to all our Friends'........just a few of the great sounds on discthree to enjoy( think maybe disc three is my favourite of the five) ...on disc four....'KateBush' --'Wow'....'Dr Feelgood' --'Down at the Doctors'....'Blondie' --'Tonight'....'The Skids'--'Masquerade'....'Be Bop Delux' --'Ships in the Night'....and...'Nick Glider' --'Here comesthe Night'....again just a few of the sounds to enjoy on disc four.......on disc five...........'Minnie Ripperton' --'Lovin' You'....'Althea and Donna' --'Uptown Top Ranking'...'TheFortunes' --'Storm in a Teacup'....'Tavares' --'Don't Take away the Music'....'LeeGarrett' --'You're my Everything'....and...'Danny Williams' --'Dancin' Easy'.....again justhighlighting a few of the numbers on disc five..........I have listed just a few of the soundsavailable to cherish on each of the five discs..........well worth checking out, the compilationoffers great value at it's current price. The seventies was another magical era in terms of the 'Pop/Rock scene........the seventiesof course was remembered for the 'Glam-Rock' explosion (some examples of which areon board) I guess we could all make a list of our favourite artists and tracks of those times. This compilation does offer a taste of the sounds we used to sing and dance too.........worth checking out.
