Hot Chicken Flavour Buldak Topokki 185g

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this but this went beyond my expectations. Really flavourful sweet and spicy sauce. Instructions was easy to follow. Rice cakes were soft and chewy, they didn’t taste of anything on there own, but then again when does rice ever really taste of anything on its own. It is a slightly different experience to ramen but worth a try. Product is pricey to buy on its own, but will buy bulk orders in future to save some money. I added cheese too, it was very good.

good tteokbokki, the flavour doesnt seem to seep into the rice cake super easily but just stab it with a fork then let it soak up the sauce and its great! however its wayy too pricey, £5 for one pot of tteokbokki (only half the cup is actually any food)

I don’t mind spicy food but I only managed to eat two of these and can no longer feel the tip of my tongue lol. This was my first time trying Korean rice cakes and I can tell that it is something that I would enjoy eating, just not at this spice level. Also, I followed the instructions but it overflowed in the microwave.

Proper spicy and delicious and the texture is nice and chewy

I have seen a lot of negative reviews so I’ll explain how I cook mine to make them perfect ( to me ). I fill a pan with some milk and add boiled water from the kettle, add the teobokki first, then add some samyang fire noodles. Cook together for 3 minutes and drain. Eat them inside the teobokki tub. Absolutely yummy. I only add 3/4 of them with my noodles + the noodle sauce but only half the packet. I find them quite filling. Lost a couple stars due to price. They have increased it by £1.50 since I bought it and I truly believe the only reason the price is so high is due to the trends/challenges and muckbang videos etc. nothing special could by same elsewhere for cheaper.

Did not like these one bit. The rice cakes smell like glue sticks and when cooked they are chewy and sticky in consistency. The sauce flavour was a little too sweet, but the best part out of all this dish. I would not recommend and I wouldn't buy again, I'll stick to the spicy noodles instead.

It tastes amazing, if you love spicy food! and its a bit chewy but that's what makes it stand out! If you are open to spicy food and wanna try something new then go ahead! you won't be disappointed!
