How fast is the camera between pictures?

I find the shutter speed to be just fine, once I followed the directions to slightly depress the button first, then depress fully. I take photo after photo, no issues of lag time!

Is the video quality good?

Absolutely! I went to the UK in August and videoed the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and the quality was remarkable. This was just one of many videos I made while traveling in Europe. It was easy to set up. Long answer to a short question. Definitely Nikon quality. It did not disappoint.
