Huji Loofah Shower Mat - Non-Slip Bath Mat 10 Super Suction Cups for Bathroom - Great for The Elderly and Children

I bought 2 of these shower mats for my walk in shower and they are comfortable to stand on. They are not, however slip resistant... The reason they are not slip resistant is because the suction cups are on the outer edge of the mat not throughout the body of the mat. Unless you step on the outer edge on a regular basis it's not going to stick. I don't think it will stay stuck to anything other than a smooth surface like a bathtub, although I have not tried this. I have non slip tile on my shower floor and it will not stick to that. I am using the mats because I can not stand on tile without hip pain. I would not recommend this mat for anyone who has unsteady footing.Update: 9/2020. I still have the shower mats over 2 years later and they have held up really well!! I initially thought that the mat would slip around because the suction cups didn't stick to the tile floor. That hasn't ever been a problem in the 2+ years I been using them and I've had 2 hip surgeries since purchasing them. I felt very safe standing and walking on them after my surgeries.

At least not in our tub. The suction cups are only around the rim, and don't appear to grip terribly well, but enough. This is because the entire underside is a good, non-slip surface, fused to the body of the mat. With my weight on one foot, I cannot make it slip, even grabbing the shower riser and pushing.It is thinner than others we've used, but in my opinion the soft, cushion-like ones are slip and fall hazards. I do not understand the reviews that complain about the suction cups coming off. They are very well bonded to the outside edge, which is a solid, three-quarter inch wide band of fiber reinforced, rubberized plastic—much superior to other, similar mats we have used. We've never had the slightest problem taking it up.

I bought this mat more for comfort, and less for it's slip-resistant quality. I have a condition that makes it painful to stand on hard surfaces, so I was looking for a shower mat that would be comfortable on my feet. This mat is great for comfort! However, if you're looking for something slip-resistant, this is not the mat. The mat I received has 8 suction cups, but really only one suction cup works at a time and the mat does not stay in-place in the shower.

After returning two different mats I gave this a try and I finally found one that has a great feel when standing on it especially for those with problems. Each is a like a mini foot massage. It cost a little more but if it works I don't care. It does have a tendency to trap particles in the mat and discolor from remaining on the tub floor so each week or so I spray it with the shower head then put it in the wash and let is set in bleach water. Works great and looks like new after.UPDATE I have had this a few days shy of a year and it is still comfortable but looks gross. The fiber holds hare on and under and the edges have discolored and look like mold. Once a week I put it in the washer and soak it in bleach water overnight which helped at first and several time scrubbed the edges with a brush. Its now beyond the point where it looks clean. Looks just plain gross and unsanitary.

We have used loofah mats from Bed, Bath and Beyond for years. They worked great and lasted a long time. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the mat we used so I turned to Amazon. What we receive was similar to the BB&B mat but not the same. This mat's suction cups that are supposed to hold it in place in the shower are substandard. They allow the mat to slide around and wrinkle up under our feet. This creates a tripping hazard and is not something you hope for when starkers and soaking wet. We will not be buying this mat again and can't wait for BB&B to restock.

Disappointed with the design because 7 of the 10 large suction cups show beyond the edge of the mat making it look cheap and unsightly. If the edging were a bit wider, the suction cups could have been aligned properly and hidden. Otherwise, I would love the appearance. I do love the look and feel of the loofah texture. It feels safe and secure and comfortable.Have not had long enough to attest to durability. It seems to rinse out and dry well, but will need to watch carefully for mold and/or mildew.

I use this mat in the bathtub where I take showers. The ten suction cups do their job as they were built to. The mat doesnt double up unless one forces it with the foot. It prevents one from slipping & having an accident in the shower, especially for seniors. The loofah mat can also be used to clean & massage the soles of the feet.Its easy to clean. I spray it with bleach after my shower. Both sides of the mat should be sprayed with bleach then rinsed with water 2 to 3 times a week. Buy a new one whenthe suction cups no longer work. Recommended.
