Does the job well. Keep the water temperature cool for the fishing trip. Sturdy enough to use it as a seat. Also have place to hang an air pump if needed. If you take the Styrofoam out you can put bigger bait in it as well.

I purchased this bucket to store minnows on a week-long summer fishing trip. It did a great job keeping the water cool, and I still had plenty minnows by the end of the week.It's basically a traditional a Styrofoam minnow bucket inside a plastic bucket with a metal handle, but this is a big upgrade in my opinion. The bucket protects the Styrofoam from getting damaged. Traditional Styrofoam minnow buckets can break pretty, but this bucket is sturdy enough that it can probably be used as a stool (I did not verify this).There are two clips on the lid... one to store a minnow net and one to mount an aerator. The lid snaps securely closed, so you don't have to worry about it popping open accidentally. In addition, it has holes which not only allows airflow, but also allows you to drain water out when doing water changes.I opted not to use an aerator, but instead did daily water changes (about half the water).I believe Frabill advertises that this can be used to keep bait cool or warm (ice fishing), but I have only used it in the summer.If you want something more durable than a traditional Styrofoam minnow bucket, but don't want to use a trolling style or two-piece bucket, then I would highly recommend it.

Works great! Saw lots of bad reviews. I haven't had any problems. Took it out a couple of times. Minnows were as lively after 4-5 hours as when I purchased them.

this is the second frabill insulated minnow bucket i have owned in almost 30 yrs of week long trips to canada fishing. the first one finally had the plastic latch that snaps the lid closed break in half after many years of fishing so i replaced it with this bucket. this bucket didn't last 2 yrs (two weeks total) before it was broken. this lid design opens just past vertical and if you happen to have the lid open away from you and put pressure on the lid when it's open, the pressure ends up breaking the plastic where the hing tabs connect and the lid will not stay on. try changing water and have the lid detach from the hinge end and you loose several dollars of minnows that end up back in the lake. second year in canada fishing and this happen to me. i would not buy this minnow bucket unless you can modify it like i have. no way is this hinge ever going to break or have the lid pop off. i have tried to contact frabill to tell them it was junk but their website is as bad as this minnow bucket.

This bucket is everything it says.No probs keeping shiners alive in single digit weather!!Its worth every penny when your not throwing expensive shiners out!!

This is a very good product. I have 2 of them, 1 for minnows and 1 for worms. Nice size to handle.

This is awesome it keep your bait cool and long lasting. I would buy it for a friend. It is great to have.
