Fluval 207 Performance Canister Filter for Aquariums Up to 45 Gallons

I did a deep dive into filters for my turtle tank and found fluval was a pretty popular recommendation so I took the chance on it. I only have a 20 gal tank, filled about half way, 10 gals. I still went with the bigger filter (207) and I’m glad that I did. This filter is an absolute powerhouse. The water is so clear! I’m really impressed. The filter itself looks great too! It’s so quiet, you can’t even tell it’s running there is literally no noise at all that comes from this filter system. The filter seems super durable and I think will last a long time! It was a little confusing to put together, but eventually we figured it out! I am very happy with this filter system

Damn! That's all I pretty much I have to say about this beast of a filter. I put it on my 55 gallon tank and it keeps it crystal clear. Thank you Fluval for the amazing product. Definitely worth buying. Very easy to set up, very quiet, and my fish love the strong current!

So far this filter is what I expected. This is my first canister filter so it took me a while to set up and figure out but once installed and running, I'm really happy that I upgraded from my old HOB filter. I'm using the 207 on my 17 gallon, which I was initially concerned might be too much filtration for the tank size. But I was able to baffle the outflow with some sponge that I zip tied on. I also had to add a sponge to the intake so that it wouldn't suck my fry into the canister. The maintenance seems straightforward and simple enough. I'm enjoying this filter so far

Love this filter keeps water so clean it’s super quiet. It has so many filters in it so the media is a bit more expensive to change regularly but well worth it.

I have had ongoing issues with the 407 model. I purchased my first 407 February of 2020. Since that time I have had to replace the motor head 4 times. A few times I had to replace it urgently and just bought the filter again entirely. My newest motor head is number 5! Having had an older Fluval model for years it seems like a significant defect. I have recently identified that the fail point is the same each time. The impeller cover does not properly engage. This took me years to figure out why the 407 would just stop filtering properly. For some reason the impeller cover disengages with the water pressure during filter operation. When cleaning and clipping in impeller cover, it clicks and seems to engage but can’t stay engaged properly. Improper sealing makes filtration completely ineffective. A few times I noticed the tiny plastic clips in motor head were damaged over time and I thought this was the cause (pictured) but my newest one, same problem and no damage. It literally did not work from DAY ONE. I have spent hundreds maybe thousands of dollars on new parts, and over and over this filter fails. I recently tried fixing seal with PTFE tape and that also did not fix the issue! I can’t believe that I am the only one with these issues!? Either it’s a significant flaw in the design of this model or I just have the worst filter luck ever! I have a turtle that I’ve had 15+ years. I’ve owned nothing but Fluval filters since day one. I have been happy with them up until the 407. UPDATE: Rolf C. Hagen (USA) Corp. also has terrible customer service! When I finally wrote this review I reached out to Fluval and said that my 5th motor head failed. I bought from Fluval Aquatics direct - Motor Head for 407 - $84.99 - Motor Head Maintenance Kit for 407 - $32.99 - Intake/Output Kit for 307/407 - $41.99 With tax and shipping I spent another $176 on 11/17/24. I emailed them 12/24/24 to say I’d like to return these parts and this was their reply: Dear [Customer], We thank you for taking the time to contact us. This unit arrived quickly. My local pet store did not have this model is stock. The only issue I had was the medium in unit is not the standard I am use to from Fluval. The carbon pouches were 1/2 the pouch I order for this unit and the filters look to be second market stuff. Luckly I have backups for this unit and applied them instead. Overall Its the unit I wanted and I am happy with it. The noise is non-existent, Set up was very easy. cost of unit is as expected, accessories were not as expected, aftermarket in my option

I've never used a canister filter before and all I can say is take the plunge! I have a 29 gallon heavily planted tank and this keeps the water looking pristine! I never hear it. I ended up getting the Fluval spray bar to go with it because the normal output attachment it comes with made my floating plants go crazy no matter how I pointed it. Very pleased with this purchase!

Tek kelime ile canavar. 500lt akvaryumum icin aldım debisi ciddi yüksek. Akvaryumdan iç filtre dalga motoru ne varsa çıkardım. Tek başına her şeyi yapıyor. Boyutlarıda gayet makul .Ve çokta sessiz çalışıyor. Kalite tesadüf değil kesinlikle parasını hakediyor

Bazı yorumlarda ürünün ciddi gürültülü çalıştığını okudum. Benim aldığımda da bir uğultu sesi duyuluyor. Bu durum normal mi bilmiyorum. Tv sesi açıkken bile duyuluyor. Bunun dışında memnunum

Muy facil de instalar y mantiene el acuario muy limpio. Sopla burbujas ocasionalmente pero es algo que los filtros Fluval hacen, aparentemente. De todas maneras muy solido filtro, lo compraría nuevamente.

This is a nice pump. It is silent and super easy to prime. My problem is with the main gasket. It leaks if the pump is tilted on the side. I haven't had a major leak, but it leaks a little if I slightly tilt the pump.

Ragazzi ho un acquario da 30L ... avevo provato 2 filtri interni con DI TUTTO, dai cannolicchi al cotone al carbone fin anche a prodotti chiarificatori. Niente... l'acqua era sempre giallastra o verde. Mi sono deciso dopo un accurata lettura a comprare il Fluval 107 (anche sovradimensionato se volete)... e dopo 1 minuto l'acqua era già LIMPIDA, dopo 10 minuti i pesci sembra che fluttuino!!!! È BESTIALE!!! UNICA COSA : ho impiegato 2 ore per capire che bisognava immettere acqua nel tubo di pescaggio altrimenti non funzionava e non si avviava il sifone. Mi ha salvato un video di 7 anno fa su YouTube. TOP!!!! Edit post 5 mesi : dopo un paio di mesi mi sono deciso a fare una prima pulizia del filtro, perché l'acqua in effetti andava cambiata (seppur parzialmente) ogni settimana. Dopo 15 giorni dalla prima pulizia NON HO MAI PIU CAMBIATO L'ACQUA DA 3 MESI!!! Solo normale integrazione legata all'evaporazione ma è sempre pulita, i valori sono OTTIMI ed i pesci sguazzano sempre mentre prima stavano rintanati in un angolino tutto il giorno! Fantastico è una vera bomba!!!! P.S. : È di una SILENZIOSITÀ SCANDALOSA!!!!!
