Descender is everything good in Graphic Novels
One of my all-time favorite books from Lemire, and in my top ten graphic novels of all time. It's heartwarming, heartbreaking, and has the most beautiful use of empty space with the watercolors make this a truly unique book. Please go buy this

Beautiful and addictive
Descender was a solid 5 star book. Great story, INSANE ART, charming characters. The ending isn't perfect but it leads somewhere...I also bought and read Ascender. Recommended.

Inhaltlich Top. Leider gibt es wenig andere Möglichkeiten die Art der Verpackung zu kritisieren. Für einen hochwertigen Band eine einfache Verpackung aus Pappe ohne weiteren Schutz ist bei dem Preis total unangemessen. Entsprechend war das Buch an den Ecken eingedellt. Gerade annehmbar, um das Buch nicht zurückzuschicken

The atmosphere, the universe, the characters... All of this contains a nice blend of impeding doom, which is familiar yet nice feeling. The style of the art is really nice too. Though watch out for the ending.

Magnifique! Arrivé en parfait état!

The covers just called my attention. They reminded me to an European comic combined with Akira and other mangas in an American comic… My comic tastes are very eclectic so I thought it might be interesting. After reading first chapter, I realized the story distilled classic sci-fi and, visually, the aquarelles panels looked beautiful. I read the two volumes of Descender pretty quickly as I was more and more absorbed by the story. Interesting travel suggested by these authors. Worth reading!

as is the normal with Jeff Lemire, a great story volume one & two are great and i can't wait for ascender to be released on hardcover, also the artwork is a watercolour feast for the eyes, great work from Dustin Nguyen.
