Excellent Magnetic Adapter
Regarding the Knaive KD3 USB C Magnetic Adapter.I have purchased two of these adapters to use at two separate computer docking locations. Both of them work very well. Notable features are...1. Contact seems to be very reliable. All devices I have connected through the adapter have worked properly with fast data transfer. These include a 4K display and a USB-3.1 hard drive.2. Magnetic strength is good. Device quickly self aligns and snaps in place.3. Connection is easy to make/break which improves my computer portability greatly.4. The green LED is good for confirming application of charging power. I use a Letscom USB-C hub connected through your adapter to my HP Spectre 360 (a 2018 model with 2 USB-C ports and only one USB-A which is busy supporting the wireless mouse transceiver). The magnetic adapter through the hub handles a HDMI 4K screen, USB and SD card connections, USB back-up hard drive, and occasionally a video projector connection as well as a 65 watt HP charger. With the often short and stiff cable connection of todays USB hubs I've used I find the magnetic connection can be pulled away from the computer when things are plugged into and disconnected from the hub. I solved this with a soft and flexible 24 inch USB-C extension cable between the magnetic adapter and the hub. It is looped behind the computer and allows manipulating the hub without disturbing the magnetic connection.Overall the adapter product works very well and I would recommend it to anyone. The second unit seems to work as well as the first unit.I plan to procure a third unit for when I use my computer in my shop.Doug GiffordMay 2020

This is the magnetic connector I’ve been seeking!
The media could not be loaded. My PC usage: I have been using this Knaive adapter on my Lenovo X1 Yoga ThinkPad (2nd generation) laptop each day for the past week. I frequently move around and have to unplug and re-plug in my laptop. I work on my PC 8-12 hrs per day (4-6 on the weekends) and my PC is often left plugged in overnight.Magnet Strength: I feel on this adaptor it is just right. It does not fall off when I move the cord around, or if I move the PC around. It does simply ‘snap’ into place when the magnet gets within 1-2 cm (about an inch) of the base.Key Selling Point: The best part of this gadget is that it serves as a safety-break when someone trips on your power cord, or if the PC power cord suddenly gets pulled or yanked. The magnet is strong, but it ‘breaks-away’ before any damage can occur to the USB-C charter port or cord.Fit: The base, the part that inserts into the USB-C port on the PC, fits snugly into my laptop. It does not slip out or wiggle around once fully inserted. Getting it out takes a little bit of force and is easier if you have a little length to your finger nails. This is because the base is very thin profile (does not stick out much). Once you get it out of the USB-C slot just a little, you get a better grip and the base comes out fairly easy. I have two USB-C ports on this, so I almost never remove the Knaive’s base. I can use the 2nd USB-C port for data if I need to.Profile: To avoid damage to my USB 2.0/3.0 ports, I tend to remove USB antennae for my pointing devices before I pack my PC up and put it into my backpack. The base on this Knaive adapter is low enough profile that I’m not afraid to leave it in all the time.Data Transfer: Sorry, but I’ve not tried to move data through this adapter, so I cannot comment on that. The specifications on this device say that it can move 10Gbp/sec worth of data.Flexibility / Orientation: I like that I can use this adaptor with the power cord going towards the back of the laptop or towards the front. I tend to move around throughout the day and popping the power cord on and off, or re-orienting it (front / back) is so much easier. I just orient the cord (from the front, or from the back) and move the adapter close to its base and it clicks into place each time. I don’t have to search for the USB-C socket, and I don’t have to worry about damaging it by inserting the tip due to misalignment. I’ve done this several times in a very dimly (dark) room and it was fast and simple. No hunting for the right socket, and no more risking accidently inserting a USB-C tip into my USB 3.0 slot.Visual Feedback: The little LED light on the magnetic adaptor is handy in that it indicates if electricity is flowing through the adaptor. It is pretty easy to see if the connection between the two magnets is correct, but when someone accidentally unplugs your charger from the outlet, the green light goes out and you can immediately see that (better than the battery icon in the status bar of the PC). Note, even if the batter is fully charged, the LED stays illuminated. The only time it goes out is if the connection between the adaptor and base is not solid, the power to the adaptor is off, or if the base is not properly inserted into the PC.Value: After buying and using this product, I do feel that the $27 price point is a fair value. There are lower cost magnetic USB-C adapters out there. There were some others that are no longer available as they’ve been pulled. Some of those had problems with the magnet being too weak, the base not fitting well, or simply shorting out. I’m glad I waited for this one to come out. I thought it was a risk based on other reviews, but now I’m glad I bought this. I’ve not experienced any of those problems with this. Again, I’ve only used this for a week.

Works great, has very good magnets
I have many dozens of the circular USB power adapters but needed to use full power for my Chromebook. A little pricy compared to the others, but it works perfectly. No complaints about the plug. Unfortunately, I waited too long to buy and my USB-C socket (port) is a bit loose. As a result, the magnetic connection between the plug and cable is stronger than the grip of my USB-C port on the plug. Rather than the magnetic connection coming apart, the plug would come out of the port. The solution is two tiny pieces of 3M foam tape. Works great. It does not look as bad as the pic in real life. And bonus, unlikely I will lose the plug. I will buy for all my USB-C high wattage devices., and a second set for travel.

works great as one usbc port damaged, would have had to replace mother board again without this

Purchased to emulate the old mag power adaptor
Had my new laptop go flying due to usb c power connector being too good compared to the previous gen mag adapter that unlatched on any accidents. I purchased this to charge with out needing to worry about accidental tugging or damage to the port or to the laptop due to a fall from tripping on the power cable.pros: works as intendedcons: does have slight issues on twist which can be overcome by attaching the cable differently or counter twisting before latching to not pivot off.Have used it for over 3 weeks and has been extremely good overall.

Almost perfect for what it does
Just to echo some of the other reviews: This connector is perfect with the one caveat that the magnet strength is a bit too low. If I'm working on the couch, the connector disconnects quite frequently from the weight of the cable itself twisting the connector sideways. It's good for a high-traffic (e.g. coffeeshop) use case, though.

Not working anymore !
I'm happy with my purchase. It is compatible for my 2020 MacBook pro 13". Fast shipping. I don't know why apple change their power adopter...this is a great solution for that. Now, it's not working anymore. I had this for less that a month. I will update my review once the seller get back to my concern.

Good for most uses.
Great for external displays, mice and keyboards, but don't connect a hard drive to it. Hard Drives need to be unmounted before disconnecting and this unit can too easily come off, or be disconnected. But with that in mind, I use mine all the time for the right peripherals, and it's great.Data and charging works fine.
