Sony VCR SLV-n750
My item was very well packed, and the shipping was very fast. My VCR was just as advertised, appeared to be new, not a scratch and worked perfect. I would highly recommend this seller.

Refurbished better than old "new"
This VCR was an old model which came in an unopened original box. It would not play tapes well at all. I believe this was probably due to the tape heads being damaged over time just sitting in the box. Most likely changes in the surrounding air temperatures caused some condensation on the heads which in turn created rust or film of some sort. It wasnt worth trying to fix myself and there are no VCR repair shops in my area. What I learned is that I'm better off buying refurbished equipment rather than 10 year old "new" equipment. So, I returned the device and ordered a refurbished VCR. It works perfectly!

Sony VCR quality is as great as I remember
I needed a VCR to do some video transfers so that I preserved the things I'd recorded over the years in the '80s and '90s before the tapes degraded completely. I settled on this one because it's a Sony and it appears to be the last (or one of the last) consumer VCR models they released in the US.The hardest part, of course, is finding something to play it on. My TV didn't want to cooperate - it has a 3.5mm A/V jack and I have an RCA-to-3.5mm, but it produced no video or audio. The USB video capture device I have didn't have drivers for MacOS Mojave or Windows 10. Finally, I hooked it up to my A/V receiver (which I'd kind of hoped to avoid because getting at the inputs is a bear), and voila. Now, obviously, you have to be realistic about picture quality, and if you haven't watched a decades-old home-recorded videotape in a while it's going to be jarring. This is 480i analog, and for once the quality of your TV isn't going to make much of a difference. But still, with that in mind, the picture quality produced by this unit is pretty much the best you're going to get out of a 15-year-old consumer-grade device.Speaking specifically to this unit, the controls are intuitive and responsive. It's very quiet - somewhat quieter than I remember VCRs being - and tape loading and unloading is speedy. Fast-forwarding and rewinding are very good as well. I'm not going to record anything with it so I can't speak to that, but purely as a playback device it's great. The one I purchased was used, and listed as "very good." It was a very accurate assessment. It was clean, with virtually no marks or blemishes. It even had the little Sony tech support sticker. Your mileage, of course, will vary in that regard.

A Good Basic VCR
As far as I can tell, this is the last of a dying breed. It does not have all the bells and whistles of previous Sony VCR's, but I consider myself lucky to have found a company that still sells the old fashioned type of VCR. It performs as advertised and has given no problems.

Works great so far
I've had this for about a month now, and it's working just fine. I bought it to transfer my VHS tapes to DVD, so it's getting a lot of use. So far I've probably played 40 or so tapes through it. Picture quality is very good. Some of my old tapes are pretty worn out, or just have poor picture quality due to age or the fact that I recorded them on a crappy VCR, and this unit makes them look about as good as they're ever going to look. They all look better than they do on my other VCR (which I consider to have good playback quality) - and a couple that are nearly unwatchable on the other VCR look almost like brand new tapes on this machine. So I'm very happy with that. The stereo sound is great as well; I haven't had a stereo VCR in a while and it's really nice to hear all my old tapes in surround sound again, and be able to preserve that as I transfer them to DVD.Overall, I'm very happy with this item. It's not one of those featherweight units like my last VCR, it has some heft to it. I am very impressed with the quality of its construction. The remote is a nice solid unit with some weight to it as well. Although I haven't done any recording with it, it's done everything I asked of it, and done it flawlessly. Now if it just keeps working like this for another 150 tapes, until I've got everything transferred to DVD, then I'll truly be a happy person.

one of the best purchases I ever made!!
Yes, it is a used VCR, but I tell you - the quality is there, the unit seems gently used, everything works, the picture quality the best you get on my VHS tapes. Now, I will use it to record my tapes to digital to then burn to DVD! Wish me luck!Yes, I would make the same purchase over again from the same seller!! Two thumbs up for service after the purchase and everything in between.

a sony slv-n750 full chassis 4 head HI-FI VCR
THIS VCR ONLY WORKED FOR A DAY OR TWO. THEN THERE WAS NO SOUND WHEN IT RECORDED MY SOAP OPERA'S.I WAS FURIOUS. IT IS NO FUN TO LOOK AT A PROGRAM THAT HAS NO SOUND. YOU PEOPLE THAT KEEP UP WITH THE SOAP OPERAS......YOU BE MAD TOO. I HAVE PUT IN A WRITTEN COMPLAINT TO AMAZON SINCE THEY SOLD ME THE ITEM.TO DATE I HAVE YET TO GET AN ANSWER FROM THEM. MY HOPE IS THAT THEY ASSUME THE RESPONSABILITY OF THE MATTERAND SOLVE MY PROBLEM. I DIDN'T MIND PAYING A HIGH PRICE FOR THE ITEM, SINCE I NOW ITS HARD TO GET A VCR NOW DAYS. THE ONLY USE I GOT FROM THIS ITEM WAS TO WATCH MY OLD TAPES WHICH HAD VOICE IN THEM. I NEED A VCR THAT RECORDS GOOD. I NEED TO TAPE MY SOAP OPERAS OFCOURSE WITH SOUND IN THEM.

fast delivery, so-so product
The VCR arrived promptly, but there was an eaten up cassette tape stuck in the VCR, and I had to force it out with a butter knife and a pair of pliers. The tape was completely unwound and wrapped up around the VCR heads. The VCR works okay now, but it is dented and scratched up pretty bad like it was abused pretty bad. I am surprised that they rated it in "good" condition with it like that. Overall, I felt I paid a bit too much for a VCR that was in that rough of condition.
