Great Stuff
I apply this to a sheet of newspaper which I set on one of my arkansas stones and strop and polish with it. When i first got it, I did about 50 laps, then now, once I start to feel a little drag, I do 3 laps on each side, alternating. I don't think I'll ever run out of this! This also works well for polishing the edge. Btw, my arkansas stone is only 1000 grit, but I went straight from that to this, and it works fine, can push cut paper about half an inch to three quarter of an inch from my finger.

Great for a homemade strop
I used this to create a home made strop. To apply, warm it up at the end of a candle for just a few moments and then rub it into the leather. I use this along with Emory (black) buffing compound for my initial buffing. The green compound works great for the final edge. This one bar will last a very long time for this need.

Worked great (with patience)
I got good results for this but I got even better results by wetsanding with 800 and then 2000 grit. You may get even better results with more passes or by following the 2000 with 3000 and then using the emery.Ps. I'm new to this so I wet the rouge with water and then ran my buffing wheel on it and it worked. (When you wet it, the rouge turns from gray to black)

Still learning how to properly use this stuff, but works great so far. Not sure of the type of pad I should use.

Poor quality
In picture 6 oz Black Rouge Metal Polishing Buffing Compound packaged and I received the goods without packaging with poor exterior. 6 oz Black Rouge Metal Polishing Buffing Compound badly applied to the surface, obviously, Compound lay a long time and possibly dry.Quality is bad!

Works well for sharpening stainless steel knives
I sharpened my knives using a 1x30" sander, with leather belts and this compound (black), followed by green compound. It goes on easy. It does feel a bit waxy, but with just a touch of this compound my knives come out razor sharp.
