Replacement for Yale 1900 door closer

Hello....the hole mounting pattern will be a little different than the Yale 1900. As far as the quality and heavy duty strength of the door closer, the LYNN DC9016 is a much better quality and much heavier duty and should work great for your application.

I would like to put a door closer on my trap door that leads to a crawl space but I don’t know if that would work. I also wonder if one on each side .

I'm not certain this would work for a trap door but it might. It would work in principle with any door that has a hinged side, but placing it could be tricky -- it might end up having to stick out on the outside of your trap door and could be unattractive. Finally, this door closer is really strong and works with a quite heavy door -- you might be able to use a smaller version for a trap door, which I assume would be relatively light and small.

Is this actually manufactured by lynn hardware? their site doesn’t not show a dc9016 matte black. is this a knockoff?

This is a true LYNN Hardware door closer.....We have not updated our website yet with some of newer finishes. Hope this helps.

can you adjust the opening weight or pull resistance?

Yes...you can either Increase the pressure it takes to open the door by adjusting the backcheck valve (the "BC" screw ) by turning it one way and can also reduce this pressure by turning it the other way. Hope this helps.
