This is my first portable speaker but I have used my kids' ones before. I use it when in the garage and it's perfect. Solid clear sound from something so small. I'm not going to call this "Bose" quality, but if you are looking for a little "oomph" to the sound your smart phone can put out this thing performs. One added feature I really like is the ability to use it as a speaker phone. It has a mic on the back side, so when you're talking, make sure it's to the back of the speaker. If I had to be nit-picky, the charging cable is flat and came folded up pretty tight - too tight in my opinion. Only time will tell if the charging cable wears out, but then you can always check the output of your smart phone charger and probably use it if you had too. Note: it also comes with a male-male 3.5mm cable so you could plug your phone or MP3 directly into the speaker if you don't want to use bluetooth.

I wanted it to be portable so I could carry it in a medium sized handbag and loud enough that it wasn't drowned out by noises. I think I've found it. I was very surprised at the size because it's incredibly small(this scared me as I opened the package). It is pretty loud for its size though. I provided a video so you can see that even at a distance from the speaker, you can still hear and understand the music. It is still a one to two room kind of speaker. You won't be able to hear it through your entire house unless you live in a small home like mine. It is worth it for the prize though. I've seen and heard speakers more expensive than this that are pretty s***ty. If you want an inexpensive, cool looking, loud portable speaker than this might be for you. The only place where it loses a star for me is in the bass department. Good bass is a selling point for this item and while it wasn't bad or muffled in any way, the sound didn't have that strength.

My wife wanted a portable speaker for when she wants music while reading on the porch or keeping the kids entertained. Man was I in for sticker shock when I saw the prices of the ones I knew of! Then I stated looking at the really cheap ones and man they are OK but not really worth their cost. While hunting around I came across this product. Never heard of them, so I did my research and found actual websites review this product and it seemed impressive to them. Well after getting one I agree them! Bluetooth seems to work well and the sounds aren't bad, they can be drowned out or sound washed out against loud environment sounds. The price and how well they work still make it a great deal. If this same company made a more upgrade verison that did as well as the $100 ones offered by companies like Jambox and priced it $60-70 oh man I would be all over that too. If your an audiophile this may not be your product but it is great for normal everyday people that just want to listen to their music from their devices. Also the Bluetooth calling works pretty good. I would say on par with ones that new cars come with. Would buy again, especially for that teen on the go!

I bought this DKnight bluetooth speaker for my friend. I had the amazon basics bluetooth speaker, the small one. She had played with the amazon basics one and she didn't tell me but she wanted something longer, bigger, and louder. By chance, this happened to be a lightening deal and I jumped at the opportunity. Since her birthday gift, my friend has taken to toting around this bluetooth speaker with her wherever she goes. She set her iphone to detect the DKnight speaker and it paired quickly and easily. I am basing this review after several weeks of her pulling out the speaker and playing music at loud volumes in random places. It is loud to me. She said, "it's pretty good," referring to the volume. I guess she has high standards because to me, this sound speaker is actually really good for the size.The great thing about this bluetooth speaker is that the buttons up on top are not just for volume, they actually control what song you are listening to as well! Beside the volume buttons are these two forward and back buttons that can move to the next song on your playlist. My amazon basics speaker does not have this function and I always wanted it to have this capability, so at least DKnight got it right!The body is a pleasure to hold. The outside has this texture that I lack the words for. Soft, spongy, and padded are words that come to mind. I imagine this padded exterior might protect the speaker if dropped, but I haven't had the chance to test that.I assume that it pairs with any bluetooth device, but I will ask my friend to test it with her Samsung Galaxy and write an update when she tries to pair it with the android.It looks like it has a good charge that lasts hours. It also has a light to indicate if it is on or charging. On the side, there is a port for the charger and another port for auxiliary items (so you can plug your device straight into the speaker).Overall, I am a big fan of this DKnight speaker and so is my friend who carries this with her in her purse wherever she goes. She even uses it in her car because she doesn't have an auxiliary port to let her connect the radio to her iphone or Samsung. It works great in the car and I wish I had thought to buy one for myself while it was on sale.One last note, rather more of a question, actually: The speaker itself has these diamond shaped indentations. I wonder why, is it for sound amplification? It looks really fancy, either way, so even if it doesn't amplify the beats, it still does a great job of being loud and looking stylish. Highly recommend, even when it is not a lightening deal!
