DEWALT 20V Max XR Cordless Router, Brushless, Tool Only (DCW600B)

It’s superior to every other trim router out there. So good that I bought 2. One I keep in its standard configuration and the other in a plunge base. This setup allows minimal setup time for almost nonstop work. Instant motor break and LED lit up work make for a fantastic experience. The size of the hand held regular base is something you’ve got to figure out for yourself but I have medium sized hands and once I got used to this size router I now find it feels safer and more secure than the smaller barrel size motor. Once you figure out how to set the depth and adjust it this router is easily more accurate, and easy to adjust than any other I’ve ever used. Which includes the red brand, the teal, the orange and pretty much all the rest. The 5 and 8 amp/hr flat stack and new lithium 8 Make this baby go forever /all day with zero loss of power and speed. GET THIS ONE!!! It’s the best.

Excellent quality, good power for a small router. Accurate adjustability great service life. This is my second purchase of the same tool. I dropped my other one in Wate accidentally. It was five years old didn’t think it was gonna make it, but I dried it out for two days and it went right back to working .

I’ve been using DEWALT tools for years, and the 20V Max XR Cordless Router (DCW600B) absolutely lives up to the brand’s reputation for quality and performance. I've had this DeWalt Cordless trim router for about a month now. Only just got to start using it and I'm very pleased. It's done exactly the job I've envisioned it would do and done it very well. I'm building a large cabinet for my workplace and I'm finishing up the trim on the outside with 3/4 red oak. This thing will go through almost a 1/4 inch with the flush trim bit Diablo makes. Just take your time so the DC can do it's job and the tool doesn't overload. Got a vacuum attachment from a third party and dust collection gets 70-80 percent of the material. I couldn't be happier so far it is SO MUCH BETTER than using my HUGE Bosch router to do this kind of work. I feel a lot safer than with the big one hanging out over these edges and having to be on my knees close to the ground. I also LOVE the factory base that comes with it which has an extended flat edge. This is one of the main reasons I bought this one over others. I hold down the corner of the flat section that points toward the right side of my workpiece with my right hand to hold down the base plate flush to the workpiece as the router rides along. Another great plusnis the break on this router kicks butt. When you turn it off the blade stops. That simple. My 2.3 HP Bosch keeps spinning for about 3-4 seconds after shut off. Super annoying. I once blew up a 25 dollar bit when the blades that we're spinning down hit my metal stand I was using to hold the router off the workpiece it was resting on. Careless mistake I haven't made since but wouldn't have happened with the DeWalt. The only main downside I've come across so far is that the dust collection attachment completely obscures the blade from the top or top/side-down view. It also has to be removed in order to exchange the bits. This is a huge design flaw. Why not just make a sliding door in the attachment that can slide away or rotatenout of the way to expose the collet for use of the wrenches? As it is we're having to take the dust collection attachment off and repace it every time we need to do a bit change. Or at least make it a quick release attachment so that it can be removed or replaced in less than 5 seconds. If you are constantly changing bits every other cut either forgo the dust collection solution, or create your own. Keep this in mind. I'd recommend this product so far. I'll update in the future if there are any issues. BUY IT AND DONT LOOK BACK.

Pros: Router is well made, cuts well etc. Cons: Dewalt - this is for you. What genius in your design team came up with an on/off switch that you cannot tell is on or off by looking at it, cannot tell which whether it is on or off by putting your finger on it, cannot tell by feel which way to push to turn it on or off? If you are cutting a groove for instance and want to remove the router after cutting to one end, it is normal practice to turn the router off and then remove from the slot. You can’t do it safely or reliably with this switch. Every other router out there has an easy to use, ergonomic switch, but not dewalt. Why not use the same switch on your corded routers. Easy to see/feel to turn it off.

By buying this online through Amazon, I saved almost $100 off the price from my local Home Depot. Can you say winner?? It’s a DeWalt tool… Pretty well bulletproof.

One of my favorite tools. So far this has been a game changer. No more power cords in the way.

Muy buen router, muy práctico y potente

After using this, i have now put my well loved but corded router. Powerful even for a battery operated router. The brake is wonderful and the LED lights helps as i mostly do my work after work and day light is limited. Will be getting the dust extractor, definitely needed.

As Described.

I needed to router out the door latches on 9 doors in my house, I was able to mark the area, set the depth and free hand all the cuts. It made the job so much easier compared to chiselling out the slot and trying to figure out the depth. I went on to use this for a couple of trim cuts on the box I made and again it handled it like a champ. Love the easy adjustment, love the power from this and honestly I have nothing negative that I can say. Great tool in the arsenal!
