Alive In New Light

I wasn't sure what to expect when I first listened to IAMX, but suffice to say I'm extremely happy that I gave Chris a chance. Let me start by saying that I love NIN, Gary Numan, Massive Attack, and other bands in similar genre's. IAMX is a natural extension somehow finding a unique niche in a crowded and often dung filled genre. Truly a gem in the rough. All of his albums are great, but this one I think stands out a little bit above the others. My only critique is that "Big Man" doesn't really hold up to the rest of the songs on the album, but this is such a minor gripe that its hardly worth mentioning because the other songs are just so freaking good it doesn't matter. Buy it and support this artist!

IAMX and Kat Von D mesh well, this is a great album.

Love this Album!!

I was a bit late to the IAMX party. Thanks to HTGAWM, I’ve discovered one of my favorite bands! And to think I was a Sneaker Pimps fan in the 90s but gave them up when the lead singer left and Chris took over. This album is near perfect and has been on repeat since I got it. Can’t wait to hear what he does next!

I keep thinking with every IAMX album, that it certainly can't compare to albums past. But it does....and it's fantastic! The sounds, the melodies, the beats are like audio sex. Chris' voice is second to none. He is a talent like no other. BUY THIS NOW!

I have all his previous albums and they were all great but this one doesn't do it for me.

The new woman who sings on this album ruined it for me. Example: The song "Stalker" which was so close to being one of Chis Corner's finest moments is ruined by her. He sings the first verse in that brilliantly classic way that we love him for and then when she sings, it sounds amateur. A few others were like that as well. On a more positive note, the song "The Power And The Glory" is beyond words. It's a serious sign that he has evolved when he puts his heart into it. Some of the other songs sounded like he rushed the creativity process and it was more of a task for him than just enjoying it. In reading reviews, I gather most did not care for the The Unified Field, but I felt it was his best work, because it was more organic, diverse, mature and he did not have to do a lot of other work in the recording process and was able to focus more on the creative process.

En un panorama musical como es el actual, donde todo es de consumo rápido, sin pretensiones y aburrido, afortunadamente me encuentro con Chris Corner. Cada disco que publica supera con creces al anterior. Y éste no iba a ser menos. Para mí se queda corto (solamente 9 canciones), pero así uno se queda con ganas de más y de que edite su próximo álbum pronto. Tengo la edición en cd y ahora he decidido comprarme también el vinilo, porque, aunque se empeñan en decir lo contrario, no suena igual. Tengo toda su discografía y es 100% recomendable. Excelente material con el sabor especial del vinil

I stumbled across this album by mistake, having bought some of IAMX's previous work and bought the vinyl version. It is honestly the best vinyl album I've bought in 2019 based on how many times we've played it. It's got depth and a joy to listen to repeatedly. For anyone wondering, it does have some similar sounds to Gary Numan's most recent two albums's since they've worked together.

Ich finde Alive in New Light richtig klasse. Von vorne bist hinten ist alles dabei. Abwechslung pur. Langweilig wird mir die Scheibe nicht. Als Anspieltipp empfehle ich Alive in New Light, Break the Chain, Stalker, Mile Deep Hollow und das wunderbare Power and the Glory.

Étant une fan inconditionnelle de IAMX, pas déçue de ce superbe album, à écouter sans modération. Et toujours cette voix envoûtante de Chris.
