Amazing knife loved it so much I bought a second one
I’m not kidding when I say I loved this knife so much I ordered a second. I used it a few weeks ago after a successful moose hunt, and it absolutely impressed me. It’s a full tang knife made from 5160 steel with the Cobalt Grey Cerakote coating is tough, dependable, and holds up incredibly well in real field use. I don’t collect knives I use them. I use them for everything like hunting, fishing, camping, survival, especially living up here in the great Alaska bush were we put gear to the test, and this Buck 104 passes with flying colors. The natural Micarta handle feels great in the hand, the balance is spot on. If you’re looking for a true working knife that’s full tang and made from quality 5160 steel at an amazing price, you will NOT regret buying this one. Buck knocked it out of the park. I’d hurry up and buy this knife before Buck stops making it.

YES BUCK!
Way to go Buck. Fantastic knife made with very tough steel. Handle fits very snug in my hand. From factory blade is very sharp. Feather sticks roll of the wood using this knife. I enjoy sharpening knives so I will have to do some camping using this fine USA made knife. The totality of the knife utilizes nothing but premier materials and should last multiple years. YES, way to go Buck. Many Thanks!!!!!

Fit and finish are under par, but it’s still a Buck knife
So the only issues I’ve had are some small details I can get over. The handle is not lined up very well on the knife, small gaps between the edge of the tang and handle on the top and bottom. On the back end there is a tiny gap between the handle and the tang. But the thing that bothered me most at first was the grind was slightly uneven. If this was a different company or an individual making this it would be fine but I’ve come to expect more from Buck. If the aforementioned issues hadn’t been there this knife would get 5 stars, the blade is great. Bought it for a fishing knife and have no complaints with functionality. Only concern is how long will the cerakote last especially while being exposed to brine or salt water. Edit as of 12/2024 Two years later and I can say this knife has been excellent. I use it constantly for outdoor use from camping/woodwork to fishing and any other things I need a blade for out in nature. Cerakote is still untouched and has held perfectly. The slight gaps on the grips has made no difference with hot spots or discomfort over time so it’s more than proved it worth. The blades edge has held up great and only ever needs a touch up. Overall i would highly recommend for a regular use small/midsize fixed blade knife. I keep it in my bag daily and for any use my pocket knife can’t handle, the price has gone up since I bought mine but I would still recommend.

Nice Knife
Great general use camp knife; not the best "bushcraft" knife - thank goodness. Get an axe if you want an axe. Good quality but poorly designed taco sheath, weak snap, and it closes in the wrong direction so that if you brush up against anything it might pop it open. Yes, I have had this happen to me with this specific knife in this sheath already wearing it on my belt on my right side. Fortunately I noticed and didn't lose the knife. Life lesson of the day: just because something is popular it doesn't mean it is any good. But yeah, the knife itself is a nice tool. Not the only knife you'll ever want, but a good one. Thanks.

Modern knife, classic look and feel
I have so many all black and tactical looking knives, I was looking for a change. Buck is legendary for made in USA quality knives, but some of their classic designs did not appeal to me. I love this knife because of the more modern materials like the Micarta scales and cerakote finish, but it has a classic look and feel. The use of sping steel was somethint different for my collection as well. There are a lot of good US made knives out there, but the sheath is imported and leaves much to be desired. This knife has a really nice leather sheath made in the US. If you are looking to give someone a nice gift, this thing comes well packaged in a classy box. I know the packaging usually isn't important, but for a gift maybe it is. The box is similar to what you would get with a high end watch. If you are trying to decide, just go and buy it... you will not be disappointed. I have bought over 50 knives on Amazon, this is the first one I have ever wrote a review for... I was just so impressed.

very sharp out of the box
i have a buck knife for a long time but wanted to see what there spring steel version was all about the knife looks and feels great in the hand the tip though could use some more work on it the sheath is next to none but would like to see buck put a fire steel loop on the sheath . this knife issues that i have with the tip will go away after sharping a few times so it not a deal breaker for me. this is a great knife

Exceeded Expectations
I was worried that the recurve on the near-handle part of the blade would be a pain to sharpen, but given 1)how easy to sharpen this is, it was not a worry and 2) This blade cuts and cuts and cuts and does not need sharpening often at all. I bought a cheap $6 Arkansas stone sharpening rod and it took about 5 minutes to sharpen after a week of use preparing food and I did a fair bit of whittling for fun as well as a fair bit of actual abuse in regards to splitting/cutting some small sections of wood (up to about 1") I was worried the blade profile would be a problem but that does not appear to be the case. Overall I really like it and the knife is super versatile being just thin enough for food but thick enough to do harder tasks. Keeps an edge super well and sharpens easily = win in my book. I plan on continuing to use this for whitetail as well as camping whenever I get the chance, after the last week I have no worries it will be able to succeed in both of these roles. Also the Micarta handles darken a lot and I think are very nice
