Solid Replacement Switch
This is is a great switch. I replaced the original on a Delta 14" cast iron bandsaw, and this new model fit perfectly into the factory mounted junction box. No modifications or extra parts to buy. Connectivity is easy if you're used to connecting motor controls. I took a phone pick of the wiring before disconnecting the old rocker switch, and that made it pretty straight forward. Will keep this brand in mind for future needs.

works and looks great and a BARGAIN
I built a router table into my table saw, I needed (wanted) a easy to shut off power switch for the router (so I don't have to reach below the table). This switch fit the bill, in fact if you research, most router table manufactures sell this same switch at a significant premium with their branding and a mounting plate. In summary: this switch is easy to use, especially easy to "turn off", easy to mount, high quality, all at a very reasonable price For ease of installation, the wiring diagram is included on the side of the switch. These were so inexpensive, I bought extras. Since that time the switch on my 25YO shopvac failed. It was an easy job to use one of these. Actually much easier to turn the shop vac on and off now.

Good switch, bad compatibility with cover plate.
I bought this switch to replace switching capability on an old Craftsman saw where replacements for the OEM switch are unavailable. The features are similar: recessed "ON" button that can be locked out, 120/230 compatibility. Overall I like the switch and installed it successfully, but there are some issues with this product listing and compatibility with POWERTEC's own switch box. Pros: 1️⃣ It's a nice solid switch with 120/230V compatibility. 2️⃣ The tactile characteristics of the switch are good. It gives a nice "thunk" when turned on or off, and in the case of my 10A saw, it seems to be a good steady connection. 3️⃣ Clamping screw terminals for fork terminal connectors. These inspire much more confidence than spade terminals, assuming you use good quality crimp connectors installed correctly. Another review suggested ring terminals and I disagree. That's not what this is designed for. Cons: 1️⃣ The cover plate is awkward. It has to mounted perfectly for the switch to work properly, but the cover is mounted to the switch using the same screw holes that mount the switch to the box, and the cover doesn't clamp directly to the switch, but relies on the stiffness of the plastic cover for strength. This is bad for durability and also makes installing the switch a pain, because the switch floats inside the box until you manage to get everything screwed together. 2️⃣ The switch doesn't fit on the POWERTEC switch box without destructive modifications, despite claims of compatibility. 3️⃣ There's not a *good* way of attaching ground across the switch unless you use a metal box. Some documentation shows the ground attached across one of the top bracket screws, but in practice this is awkward due to space constraints. 4️⃣ This claim from the product details seems to be false: MAGNETIC SAFETY FEATURE: Equipped with a magnetic switch that prevents automatic restart after power loss or outage. Ensures your tools remain off until manually restarted, protecting both operator and equipment. I had my suspicions, because usually you have to choose between dual voltage compatibility and electromagnetic switching, because the electromagnet has to be calibrated to the voltage. But ... y'know ... still hoped, because I want both of those features on this tool if I can have both. In any event it doesn't work. If I turn the switch on, cut power to the circuit, then restore power, the switch is still on. Either this switch is defective or the product details inaccurately claim a magnetic safety feature.

Spot on match to older Powermatic Model 50 Jointer.
Used this switch on a old Powermatic Model 50, 6 inch jointer. The screws provided are a different thread pitch than what is on the Jointer. And the original screws were to short for the decorative cover that comes with the switch. However, the switch itself without the included cover is a spot. on match to what came with the mid 1970s Jointer. I am sure I could source the proper length screws ifnI wanted to use the provided cover. But I actually like that I could keep it original. See the photo, the Black and red buttons are what is under the decorative cover that comes with the switch. And spot on atch to the original.

Good switch to use on stationary power tools
Using this on a woodworking tool table I put together. I find it well constructed. If you want a wiring diagram, you can find it on the net.

Sturdy replacement for OEM switch
Rewired my 3-in-1 Mill-Drill-Lathe and used this to replace the OEM switch. The original switch was overly complicated and fragile. This is a sturdy, sensible replacement and much easier to wire into the system. Great value. I wish they had a option with lighted buttons (not necessary but would be a welcome addition).

Mixed Bag
This is really not suited to mounting in a standard electrical box though the mounting screw spacing matches that of most boxes. The terminals are small screws and are unsuited to use with solid building wire. Ring terminals are the only safe option and there is sufficient clearance only for terminals for 14 gauge wire and smaller. Solid wire is too stiff. Terminals will be overstressed by bending forces when installing the switch. Flexible stranded wire as in cordage is required. Fortunately for me that's what I was planning to use. The front panel/button assembly is not fastened to the switch assembly. The switch assembly is simply clamped between the button assembly and whatever it is mounted on. This makes for a fussy, difficult assembly in an electrical box. Clearances need to be just right or the buttons won't function properly. The switch is big. It is not too wide, but it is unusually long and very deep. Die-cast outdoor boxes won't take it without modification. I made it work, but I have a milling machine, know how to use it and wasted over an hour modifying a box by milling away hubs and bosses that were in the way. It was still a very tight fit that required a plastic sheet behind the switch for insulation. This thing is more suited to mounting on a machine panel with plenty of clearance around it and behind it. The switch itself seems solid and carries a UL label. I wouldn't buy it again unless I was planning to panel mount it.

Gracias.

This safety switch was just what I was looking for, the function is just what you would find on brand name products for safety. I made this stand for a DeWalt port-a-band, and wanted it to look professional. Easy to install, this switch gave it that look and function.
