Makita HP2070F 3/4 inch Hammer Drill with L.E.D. Light

My Porter Cable hammer drill sounded like a regular drill, when it was new. Shrill, loud and I thought that was the sound of working tool. This Makita changes everything, at least for slow to catch up me. This drill sounds like a jet, or rather the jet sound of the coolest machine you ever saw in a movie, quiet and controlled. I was using 1/2" drill bit into wet 6x6 pressure treated posts for rebars. This Makita changed what I expect from tools for performance and noise.

Drill is a great value excellent price. It has a great power to pierce both normally or with hammer option. Really easily pierces the concrete. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend the brand makita, are excellent tools

I bought this drill expecting it would last for many years if it was looked after. I was very wrong. After 5 minutes of medium duty mixing of mortar, the drill started smoking and very quickly failed. At first I thought that maybe I had a dud, so returned it for a replacement. A new drill was shipped out very quickly and again, after 5 minutes of medium load running, the second one burned out as well. It is a real chore for me to get to a UPS store to return this because the store is quite a few miles from home. Maybe I should just buy my tools from the local hardware store and forget about buying from Amazon. This is by far the crappiest product I have bought in a long time. I will read the reviews more carefully if I ever buy another power tool from Amazon... I have always liked Makita products and have been using them for over 30 years. This model is a dud. There is no way that Makita does NOT know this, but they continue to sell it anyway. If they knew how much damage that does to their brand reputation, they would pull this model from the shelves and dump them. So, thank you Makita for making all my tools for the past 30 years, but that drill was the last Makita product I will buy.

The ideal ... Large power, speed, and 2 runs. Small and comfortable. The ideal is the mixing of small quantities of mortars, paints, adhesives through speed control and gear. For professional and home :-)

Drill is very powerful and gets the job done. Various speeds are useful while working with different materials.

Went with this over the DW. Very impressed, more than enough power and torque for any job... Used more for concrete that is 27 years aged, 3/8 bit cut through like butter in hammer mode... You will not go wrong on this beast...

got it loved it. not for long. first time I used the hammer mode on a 1/2 inch dia. hole the motor smoked and lost all power. I'm home owner and not a contractor. I did not abuse the tool. In my estimation it is junk. I did not take the other bad reviews seriously, I should have. do not buy this product. It is inexpensive for a reason I guess.

Works great. Received it as advertised on time no delays and no problems.
