This dome is great. It is extremely well made and comes with a wide variety of adapters for all types of hoses and even includes extras in case you want to drill-out another hole or two in the lid. I have not permanently installed mine, but even just having it dry-fitted on top of my sump has made a big difference in the humidity in my basement. I will retest radon once I have it fully installed (my levels have tested 2.1-3.1 before this lid, so that's not my main concern). I primarily bought this to just clean-up the sump pit area and protect children from getting into it.When I originally wrote this, prior to publishing, I marked this lid as 4 stars, knocking one star off for the price being so high. Then I thought about why it's so high and I changed my mind. 1) I'd imagine this isn't a product flying off of the shelves, so the low demand deems a higher cost to keep their business going and, even more importantly, 2) this product is made so well that you will never have to rebuy it. This is one of the rare products in our lives that is not built in such a way that forces you to replace it at some point. This thing is built like a tank and I doubt you could damage it if you tried. With those 2 things in mind, the price makes sense to me.All in all, this product is great to accomplish the following goals:1) Provide an attractive, clean installation for your sump pit area2) Reduce basement humidity3) Reduce basement Radon4) Installing sump ventilation (which relates to 2 and 3)If any or all of those are important to you, then I'd say this thing is worth biting the bullet on the asking price and going for it. Other sump liners/lids that you find are trash compared to this.

The last Basin/sump cover you will ever need.
I used the The Original Radon/Sump Dome, (Jackel Engineered Products) to replace my steel plate cover that had "disintegrated" and unknown to me dropped chunks of metal into the sewage basin where they got sucked up into the lift pump... jammed the impeller and evidently damaged the pump motor. What a great basin cover. I have a 24" diameter basin, and the 28" dome, (made from injection molded polyethylene structural foam), fit nicely over the entire basin rim. I used 1/4" tapcons to secure the dome to the concrete floor. Because I have a 24" basin, there was little room for other concrete anchors, but remember, the 100% pure silicon is what seals and really keeps the dome in place. Because there are 12 mounting holes in the dome, the tapcons worked perfectly and didn't break through the thin concrete around the outside of the basin. The 18" insert cover comes with 8 stainless steel screws and a heavy rubber gasket to provide a great seal. The dome came with a whole series of flanges, seals and gaskets to take care of any vent and discharge sizes, with the ability to add additional holes to the sides to accommodate different configurations, (and radon vent if needed). The rubber plug for the wires looks like it could accommodate up to 5 wires and seals nicely. Very pleased with the thought put into this product. Even though a little higher in price than other covers, The Original Radon/Sump Dome is of a very good quality/construction, and will probably outlast the life of your house.

Great and durable cover
Purchased this to seal my sump no so much worried about radon since our levels were very now to untraceable but wanted a well made cover to seal out any cold breeze and to house a dual sump system. I will say that we had some issues lining the sumps in a way that would line up with the pre drillled holes so we ended up drilling another to line up correctly. The plastic is very durable and very nicely made one thing I did not like is when you go to screw the cover on you need to be very careful not to push the screws in too hard else the plastic tabs from the bottom will fall off into your sump and you will need to pull the cover off and either find the one that fell off or use one of the extras they give you. Overall I would recommend this cover, very durable and seals and looks very nice. We went with a triple sump system , two main pumps and one battery back up pump. 4 star due to the screw insert fall off to east.

Great product, does the job.
Went with this product after reading all of the good reviews over the cheaper version from a local retailer. As noted in the other reviews it has very solid construction.Couple items to note though:- For me it did not reduce the humidity levels in the area of the sump lid. I left a humidistat in the area and it did not affect the readings after installation (did not affect the reading more that 1% in RH).- As far as the musty smell in the area of the sump pit I did notice an improvement (hard to quantify this one though).- As far as radon mitigation I was impressed with the improvement. Although the number of days tested for each test was different, 7 for the first 3 for the second, I saw a large improvement in radon levels. For the first test it was 9.6 +/- 0.7 pCi/l. The second test after installing this product it was 4.9 +/- 0.3 pCi/L.- It has decreased the number of bugs that I've noticed in the basement (actually have found a couple dead bugs that can no longer access their water source).

Arrived broken — 1 of the threaded Ports is broken in half and its also missing 3 of the lid bolts.
The media could not be loaded. It arrived broken so I have no use for it / have no experience using it.

Great Product!
Solid product. I installed two of these (two sump pumps) as part of the installation of a radon mitigation system. Being a house built in the 1900's, the basement floor is uneven. I used butyl rubber to adhere the base ring to the floor ensuring an air tight seal - no bolts. It's solidly mounted and would require prying tools to remove. the base ring has molded areas to use the included alignment template to drill holes for additional pipes to drain into the sump hole. These were also sealed using butyl rubber. The included hardware allows for various size pipes and sealed up tight. The lid bolts onto the base ring using a ribbed rubber seal to make it air tight. As a homeowner that likes to do my own work, I'm very happy with this product. It really improved the look and organization of the sump areas. Knowing what I know now, I'd install these even if I wasn't installing the radon mitigation system.
