Tons of value here for the beginner!
--- An update 3 days later, 02/27/2023 --- I just used this kit again to replace a left click switch that was double-clicking on a Logitech mouse. It took a while to desolder the old switch, possibly because I had the iron set for 350 degrees and used the smallest tip. There were no problems, it just took a while to get the old solder hot enough. This is where I sort of wished I had a higher power iron, but then I am not going to be able to justify another $80 for that since I don't tinker much. Soldering the new switch on was a cinch -- no issues whatsoever, and very quick. The entire process was so much easier than the LED strip job. --- Original review 02/24/2023 --- This kit allowed me to solder a cut-up LED strip to 22AWG wires, my first time soldering in 25 years (although 25 years ago, I wasn't "soldering", I was "dropping solder onto connections from 2 feet above", so this was really my first true soldering job). Tools I used, from this kit: 1. Soldering iron at 325-350 degrees 2. Soldering tip (the narrowest one) 3. Solder wire 4. Flux paste (the solder wire has flux in it, but I just needed an extra dab) 5. Soldering stand & sponge 6. Multimeter to test for any shorts 7. 22AWG red and black wires 8. Electrical tape 9. Tweezers 10. Heat shrink Tools I used, NOT from this kit: 1. Wire stripper/cutter (there is a cheapo one in the kit but I tossed it without trying it) 2. Helping hands with magnifying glass 3. HEPA air purifier 4. Silicone soldering mat 5. Lighter 6. Clear tape Basically, what I wanted to do was to attach approx. 1 foot of LED strip each to just the top and bottom of the back of my son's monitor so that the back would radiate ambient colors, and have it all be controlled by the controller that was attached to the bottom strip. My LED strip was only 2 feet long, hence not long enough to do the sides, so I cut my LED strip in half and soldered the 22 AWG electrical wires to run on the side and connect the top uncontrolled strip to the bottom controlled strip. Before starting the project, based on some of the bad reviews, I was concerned about the soldering iron dying on me, but it didn't. The handle also didn't get too hot or melt or anything, even though I used the iron for about 2 hours at roughly 325 degrees. So... is this a kit that's full of the cheapest products you can get? Yes, pretty much, except for the stand, multimeter, and utility knife which are a step above the cheapest. The soldering iron, namely, is almost the cheapest one you can buy on Chinese sites that runs on AC. So... is this a bad kit? No, unless of course you were unlucky and received a dud soldering iron. I mean, this was my first real soldering job, with permanently shaky hands, poor vision, tiny LED strip connections (4 connections on each side), and no extra LED strip to bounce back from failures, but I still got the job done on the first try with what was included here. I think the owners of Plusivo put a lot of thought and effort into creating this kit with a mish-mash of cheap but decent products. Everything important works, and if you bought the parts separately, you'd have paid a lot more, even from Chinese sites. Just upgrade whatever you feel frustrated with. I for one threw out the wire stripper and jewelry screwdriver set the day I got them because I already had better ones and wanted to create more room inside the bag. There's definitely a lot of room for better quality replacements, but most of what you need is in this kit if you have a small budget.

Really nice surprise for fixing the dashboard on old toyota
I got this kit for the de-soldering supplies inside rather than buying all the parts individually for one small project. I am replacing the resonator on a Toyota speedometer (already replaced speedometer but the gauge on the dashboard still heats up and goes out intermittently). Many of the items I already have but it is nice to have two of each. That way I can keep a set for lead soldering in circuits and a separate set for lead free soldering. I didn't need the voltmeter but it is great. it really has a backlight that works. It tests 1.5v and 9v batteries. My current one tests 1.5, 6, 9, 12 volts. This is the main reason I even use it lately. This little multimeter tests continuity also. The de-soldering wick isn't a lot but enough for what I need. The de-soldering vacuum has good suction. The tips in this package are a great range of sizes. And the iron even comes with one spare one already in it. The case is the PU leather type of stuff that usually don't last but it keeps the supplies together. I wasn't sure if the solder included is lead or lead free. Most kits nowadays come with lead free which is too hard to heat for a tiny circuit. The solder is labeled with a Proposition 65 but that still could be nickel and tin or lead and tin. The blue screwdriver set is really nice. I use one of these all the time for opening battery compartments and fixing small things. The magnetic bits inside the screwdriver are useful for different types of screws. A really nice feature is an included tiny circuit board to practice and some wires. The price was amazing too. Update: 11/3/24. The soldering iron and electronic sized tip was amazing. The dashboard on a 26 year old car works now. I did use a smaller sized solder wire than was in the kit and some extra flux. Thank you seller for the great product and price.

Mostly good news
Firstly, the 4 stars take the price into account. For the money, it's a pretty good set. For example, if it cost twice as much, I'd give it 1 star. The multimeter is alright, but no zero adjust (that I could find) for ohms, it's awkward to use for that purpose. Also the response time is very slow, so patience is required to use any of the functions. Wait a few seconds and see if you have a connection to the supply. The bag, which requires magic to get the parts back into it after most components have been removed for a project, is of little use, other than to deliver you the parts. I wound up using a Tupperware container and putting everybody in that pool, and tossing the bag. My main praise is that almost everything you would need for typical project is right there. Cutter, stripper, solder, shrink wrap, some tape..... So you don't have to think of, order, and pack all the various components yourself. Quick and simple, and, well, not so bad. So everything for the most part is usable, the quality of each component is, well, meh. But usable. It got me through replacing a switch in my boat, and I used the meter, iron, solder, shrink, clipper, stripper, and tip, so I can't complain. 60W is the very lowest which is still usable, but not enough for anything other than wire to wire really. I think I should have, and eventually will, put my own kit together with better quality components, but that will cost 2-3 times as much, and take more time. But that's the trade off, isn't it? Quick and cheap and mostly usable, verses labor intensive, more expensive, and higher quality. So with all the provisos, 4 stars.

Soldering Iron Kit
I bought this kit in hopes of using it to replace some microswitches in a gaming mouse as it had started doing the dreaded doubleclick on the left/right mouse buttons. I've never used a soldering iron before so wasn't really sure what to expect. A lot of guides suggested models with temp controls on the base/digital temp selection but I wasn't looking to spend that much since it was only for one repair (for now.) Naturally I chose this kit. 1) Temperature: The iron gets plenty hot enough to melt the lead-free solder used in most consumer electronics these days. The iron goes all the way up to 450C but setting it to a little above 350C and tinning the tip got the job done. 2) Solder Sucker: Boy, this thing is amazingly handy. One of the reasons I bought this over a slightly more expensive standalone iron with no extra goodies. It works perfectly for more spaced-out posts but I had difficulty using it on post clusters that were only a few mm apart. The tip is a tad too blunt to get good suction around those. Really like this thing. 3) Solder wick: This being the first time I've soldered I can't really give an opinion on the quality of the wick but I can say that it did not work for my application. I mostly tried using it for clearing the last bit of solder off of a cluster of posts but it just would not absorb. I ended up having to get out the air compressor and break some rules with an air brush tip. Safety glasses and a long sleeve shirt and gloves! Some better quality wick to go alongside this kit would probably a good choice. 4) Solder wire: I purchased some extra 60/40 wire in addition to the stuff that comes in the kit and honestly I don't notice that much of a difference between the two. Nice. Used the stuff that came in the kit as tinning for desoldering. 5) Other extra goodies: You can probably find creative ways to use most every extra tool that comes in the kit. The little screwdrivers I actually needed to use to disassemble some plastics braces inside the mouse. That's helpful. I put some of the tape around the pair of tweezers and used it as a clamp to keep the switches straight while soldering. All in all this kit is so convenient and helped get the job done. Cost less than buying a new mouse!

Great Value
This kit is perfect for anyone who is looking to get into soldering, and with all that it comes with is a great value for the price. The carry case is nice. Keeps everything organized and protected and feels quality. There is a free download code provides a 45 page informative guide that is great for any novice to pick up and learn and understand the basics and fundamentals of soldering. A few things to note, the box cutter is not the best, it will get the job done but the build if a cheap plastic so it sort of feels flimsy in your hand, that type that feels like if it falls from my hand it would crack or break, the wire stripper aswell does not feel like the best quality plastic but also gets the job done just that you have to take a little extra care and attention to get it done right, so I will be swapping those out for more premium build ones. The soldering iron works great and as you hope it would. It feels light but balanced. Being held feels natural and easy to work with. The rubberized padding on the body gives a secure grip which is what you want when working to get that perfect control of movement and it has extra tips of varying sizes and uses. To sum it all up, this kit is a perfect starter kit. The value for money here can't go wrong.

Great stuff for the money for sure
I absolutely love this little set. It has it all just look at the pics. The soldering iron is pretty awesome and has a nice little temp control and the multimeter is amazing considering how little I paid for it all. About $27. It even has a stand on its back and a backlight and the ability to change probes is priceless and great at these pricepoints. So far it all seems to be good quality. The flush cutters slice a single sheet of paper so I'd call that sharp and aligned very well. I have been soldering for years and even did so in the Navy for 3 years as an aviation electronics technician and was always soldering something. This stuff is for real and the price I can't believe really considering how much stuff you get. The little breadboard is a cool addition I thought and I'll have fun with it for sure. It's a good set for beginners as well as us who've been at this awhile. I had one single simple problem that I honestly couldn't care less about...the little wrench for changing soldering iron tips is too small but it's also not necessary as it shouldn't be toghtened that much anyway nor does it need to be. Finger tight is just fine. I'm impressed overall and am super pleased I wound up buying this specific kit. I had separately bought some desolder wick with the pump like in the kit and also some heat shrink tubing that both costed me $20 total. I canceled that stuff and put $7 more and got SO MUCH MORE STUFF that I needed anyway. Super pleased. I can't wait to solder something....anything....I'm on it lol

Comes jam packed with everything you need, more things you're gonna need, and a book
HOLY COW. the amount of adjectives I could use right now wouldn't be enough to explain how much I love this kit no literally opened it up thinking this is gonna be like a step up from harbor freight and boy was I wrong. This whole thing literally is amazing. I'd never think a case this small can pack the whole 9 yards of everything you need. Got a kid and wanna learn how to do stuff? This is it. Are you an adult who needed to fix something? Yep this is for you. The multimeter is real nice s well. This thing also comes with a pen that looks like a screwdriver, heat shrink tubing, different colors of electrical tape, a small pcb, solder (duh), solder cleaning gel, a stand for the iron that it literally the smartest idea I've ever seen, solder sucker that actually works, a cover on the soldering iron to protect the tip, tweezers, even the multimeter has ends that are protected. The exacto knife they gave me is no where near flimsy at all, you even have a pair of wire cutters, and a poker for using it on small wires, 2 medium sized amounts of spare wire red and black, a mini wrench, and a tiny screwdriver set (very tiny). I'd buy this all again in half a heartbeat. The case is wicked durable as well. Did I mention you even get solder wick? For $30 bucks and some change, I'm surprised at the quality of this. I'd honestly pay $50 bucks to buy this all because of how nice it is. Seriously, go buy this. Feel hesitant on buying it? Don't. If I could be a salesman right now and show you this, I would.
