Another brilliant album!
Sungha never ceases to amaze. This 17 year old Korean guitarist demonstrates so much maturity and passion in his music. Since becoming a professional musician around five years ago he has traveled the world and shared the stage with many of today's guitar greats as well as doing his solo concerts. At 12 he did his own arrangement of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" that Jason has adopted and he has even called Sungha his "zen master" as it taught him a new and better way to approach his own song.He wrote eleven of the twelve tracks on this album and arranged the last one. If I had to pick a favorite piece it would be "The Milky Way" that he first played on the YouTube music Awards (Seoul). It is hard not to just close my eyes and travel with him on that one but each piece is unique and great in it's own way. This is Sungha's fourth solo album (with Perfect Blue, Irony and "Paint it Acoustic") and he also did a collaboration of duets with several top Japanese guitarists called, what else, "Duets."I saw him perform live - and meet him - last year in Incheon, Korea, and hope to be able to see him again as often as possible. He lives his music. Google Sungha and visit him on YouTube. Almost 850 million hits on his music. See what you are missing.
