Great POE injector for DC applications.
I wanted to set up a wireless access point to act as a booster and repeater for my Starlink Mini when camping. The AP I chose (like many) requires POE power. I knew it would work on 12v so I just had to find a way to supply the power. Rather than cutting a network cable and attaching the proper connector to feed 12v I went looking for a POE injector with a 5.5x2.1mm DC connector and found this one. The price was super reasonable and the injector works awesome. Very pleased.

It Works!!!!
I took out some old Xfinity cameras that were WiFi but using PoE for power and was trying to use the same setup for different cameras but I needed a PoE injector. This is 3rd different one I had purchased but I’m glad I did because it actually worked.

Good, simple passive power over Ethernet injector
The only caution is that this PoE injection cable uses four of the eight conductors on the RJ45 jacks to supply power. That means it only works with 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps Ethernet, as Gigabit Ethernet uses all four wires for the signal path. I used these to power a couple of IP surveillance cameras that were not inherently PoE. Works as advertised. You, of course, supply the actual power supply that connects to it using the standard barrel connector.

An Easy Solution to Power a Camera with Only an Ethernet Cable
This 12-volt POE injector was the perfect solution to using my Amcrest (12-volt) camera in a location where only an Ethernet cable existed. The instructions were clear and "installation" was nothing more than plugging each part of the injector on each end of the Ethernet cable then connecting to my router/switch and to the camera. Works perfectly!

I recommend it - Works very well
I really recommend this product. I think this comment will help many buyers because before I bought it I didn't have an answer to these questions. First of all, I should mention the quality, the plastic and the cable are quite high quality. It came packed in a special factory bag. I needed this product to power the IP camera. There is a 20% copper internet cable in the wall, which made me afraid of how much power it could carry. This product worked great. In my case, the power source is 12 volts 1 amp. With this method, both audio and lighting worked on the camera.

3 out of 6 were defective. Does not work ...
3 out of 6 were defective. Does not work as a true POE injector. None of my POE phone would power up without using both ends, other phones would randomly reboot. These devices have issue in the way the power is wired internally and it interferes with the ethernet signal somehow. Suggest against buying until the mfg fixes what should be a simple device. UPDATE 2014.12.20: Manufacturer has apologized and offered POE injector as replacement, so I commend them on that. After running continuity test on this device, it seems that only wires 1,2,3 and 6 are connected which means that power is being supplied over signal pairs instead of spare pairs. POE specs says that a POE device should be able to accept both methods. But, several of my SPAxxx phones were randomly rebooting. Replacing this device with a dedicated POE injector or the original power adapter directly seems to have solved the issues. I've contacted the seller and explained my findings in detail.

Simple, functional, inexpensive
It's an easy way to inject DC and recover it at the other end. Speed test showed 100 Mbps at 2 feet, while carrying 2W or 20W. Speed test showed 10 Mbps at 250 feet (carrying 2W). Ethernet plugs have 4 conductors, as expected.

Did not work.
Purchased to power my wireless router, have 100 ft of CAT6 and power was not sufficient enough to properly run the router. Did a troubleshooting test with only 5ft of CAT5 from power to router and still no luck. Device powers on but not enough to keep it going. My device works properly without the POE injector.

Worked fine to bypass POE power around a non POE switch.

I bought this only for the PoE injector, but there was none when it arrived. I had to return it.
