Basquiat: A Graphic Novel

It was a gift to a friend who is into art and this particular artist. He loves it!

My first graphic novel since early teens. Interesting genre and will read some others that were recommended by my book group. Not really my style, tho. Not a lot of character development. But intriguing characters led me to seek out more information. Time invested about 2 hours for first read. Many more hours later. Good project in time of pandemic.

This graphic novel style worked well to convey a very chaotic life of the artist Basquait. Some of the pages did not render well in the digital format, specifically the pages with lots of text, at the beginning and end of the book.

Got this as a gift for my mom. She love it. They cover is a hard cover. The pages are very nice. Would buy it again.

This is a great companion to the film Downtown 81 done about Basquiat. I was thoroughly impressed by this. Simply awesome.
