Watch reading and writing confidence soar as children master 100 sight words―the words most commonly encountered in any text. A great way to help build reading fluency! Watch confidence soar as children master 100 sight words - the words most commonly encountered in any text. Children read more fluently, write with greater ease, and spell more accurately when they know these high-frequency words! These fun, ready-to-go practice pages let kids trace, copy, manipulate, cut and paste, and write each sight word on their own. Features words from the Dolch Word List, a commonly recognized core of sight words. Also includes games and extension activities. Review: K-2 Teachers & Homeschooling Parents - As a 15+ years of experience teaching K-2 and a mom who homeschooled my youngest, this is an ecellent resource for children learning sight words. I used this book to supplement my now first grader's learning to recognize high frequency words when he was 3 years old. We used it regularly when he was 3 years old. He was an early reader. I used resources such as this one that made learning fun and kinesthetic. Yes, you will have to help your child form and write the sentences. But, heeelllllo! This is for the reviewers who said they did not think the sentences were appropriate: ALL children learning to read and spell high frequency words need lots of support in this area. But you don't withhold teaching your child/student how to write sentences just because they cannot write them on their own yet! And for the MANY reviewers who complained about the fact that they should not have made the pages back to back to where you have to copy each sheet in order for the child to be able to cut the words, uhm please read the description "REPRODUCIBLES". That means that you make a copy. Also, fyi, most of these Scholastic books are marketed or made for classroom teachers so the assumption is that teachers will incorporate them into their lessons for an entire classroom-so, copies are expected. One more thing, if they were not back to back, then this workbook would be TWICE the price. I like that I was able to buy it for under $12. One more thing, a few people stated that it was boring for their students. I agree that some students may get bored. But I found , as a classroom teacher, it was an Excellent homework resource for my first graders. Because it was always the same format, after a month or so, my students were able to do it independently at home with the exception of the sentence which still required some parent support. However, my on grade level and above grade level students were able to write their own sentences independently by about a month or so. One really neat bonus, as a classroom teacher, is that it involved my students' parents in teaching their child how to form sentences, thereby students learned the concept of a sentence, a period and how sentences start with capital letters in conjunction with learning how to spell and write HF words in an accelerated pace. Highly Recommend this resource to supplement your instruction. Review: Helped my daughter majorly! - I was a home school mom last year and I was really scared that my daughter would have a hard time learning to read. I looked over many different books to help her with her sight words, but this was the best one we were able to find. When I got it I was a bit worried because it wasn't very thick, but I was worried for no reason. She loved this book, and it worked really well. She was able to complete the book and retain the words that were taught in the book. This book made something that she was scared of something that she was able to accomplish with ease. I certainly recommend this book to anyone looking to help their little one start reading.

Perfect supplement to help build writing skills
100 Write and earn Site words workbook is the perfect supplement to help build writing skills and even sentence forming, even though it isnt about sentences. We used this as part of our homeschool and it was a perfect addition to Spelling AND Writing class. Each page offers a site word, space to trace and write the word several times, letters to cut out and space to glue them in the correct order, and then lines to write a sentence using the site word.

Some flaws, but still good practice for a soon-to-be first grader.
I bought this book for my soon-to-be first grader to practice reading/writing skills over the summer. I like how each page focuses on just one word, however I agree with other reviewers that the 'write your own sentence' portion at the bottom is a little silly if they are still learning simple sight words! Instead of creating a new sentence I just have her copy the one provided (in which she has to fill in the missing word). That still gives her the practice she needs. I also have her skip the cut-and-paste portion as the pages are double sided (so by cutting out one side, you ruin the activity on the other) and she can get that practice elsewhere. Complaints aside, this is a nice quality book with approximately one hundred sight words. I would buy it again. For reference I paid $8.72 for it in June 2018.

They fixed the letter-cutting placement!
I was slightly turned off by the reviews about the letters being placed so you couldn't cut them from both sides of the paper. I figured I could make single-sided copies or easily make our own letters to cut so I bought the workbook anyways. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cuttable letter boxes at the bottom have shifted to the edges of the page so you can use letters from both sides without them overlapping!

Great book with one annoying flaw. I’m still very happy I bought it!
I really like this book for my 5 year old going into L next school year. She was in Pre-K this year until the quarantine hit, and I ordered this book to help us with building her reading skills while “homeschooling.” This book does have one silly, fatal flaw, which others have mentioned: the letters to cut out at the bottom of each page overlap. So weird. We overcame that by just making my own boxed words she had to cut out and paste on the page. Other than that I found it to be a valuable book n our repertoire, and like that it’s the same format for every page. Once she got the format, she was able to do this independently.

great learning tool
I'm still waiting for the rest of my order but this book is great to further learn sight words. My only bad comment is that the words at the base say to cut out the word but then it ruins the word on the next page and if your child is writing directly into the book it doesn't work.

After learning and recognizing the words.
This shirt belongs to me. belongがわかって、meがわからないものなのでしょうか。

Great resource, love how it asks the kids to ...
I am a KS1 teacher and will be using this to support my kids that need that extra little bit of help with their sight words. Great resource, love how it asks the kids to use the word in a sentence.
