What in the world is going on here? Cornstarch is still easily found in any supermarket for under $2 a box.

Hi Jon- Thanks for asking. Maizena corn starch is a specific brand that is often favored by the Hispanic community. Often, consumers of this demographic will seek brands that they are familiar with from their family history, so that they can recreate dishes from their past. It is for this reason that many of these customers will seek out this specific brand. This brand is imported, adding extra cost. Also, this product is eligible for Prime shipping, and of course there are additional costs associated with that. Our company also distributes this product to supermarkets. After the costs and fees related to making this available on Amazon Prime, our margin is the same as it is for supermarket distribution.
