It really works, seriously!
This actually works to eliminate fleas! I had tried everything prior to buying this product & nothing seemed to even put a dent in the sudden flea issue on my patio. These fleas were literally living in the cracks of the brick floor on my front porch. I don’t have an animal that would be the cause of this, so idk where this flea population suddenly came from. It was brutal, every time I was out on the porch, I was being bit on my feet & ankles. Fleas were jumping into my fuzzy slippers & I even brought 2 inside my house by accident. Over the course of a week, I tried covering the entirety of the porch with borax, which I did 2 days in a row. I then tried an essential oil based insecticide that claimed to kill fleas (it didn’t) which I used 2 days in a row. Then for the next 2 days, I covered every floor brick & the walls on the porch, with home defense. Which usually will easily kill every type of bug. All this to no avail, after 7 days & 6 separate treatments, I walked outside & had 4 fleas on my foot within a minute. So I researched & learned they can live & breed in the dirt or grime buildup between patio bricks. My porch is pretty regularly cleaned, so I didn’t think it was built up enough to foster flea eggs. Regardless, I spent 4 hrs blasting every speck of dirt out of in between the bricks, plus the walls were sprayed down. After it dried, I saturated the entire porch once again, but now with this flea & tick spray. It does have kind of a strong smell as you spray it, make sure to wear gloves & maybe a mask. The like tube between sprayer & bottle is like an inch long, so you have to carry the jug in one hand & spray with the other. Even trying to keep my distance, I must’ve breathed the overspray in my nose a bit, cause it really irritated my sinuses & caused a sneezing fit. The smell was present for a few hours after, but it wasn’t bad. After all that effort.. I was so happy, it actually worked! Between the intense cleaning & applying this spray, to every crack, every brick surface & the perimeter of the porch. I almost couldn’t even believe it. No more fleas in the last few days since using this product! I do anticipate spraying again though, probably within a week, just in case there’s any eggs still in the cracks. At the same time I ordered this spray, I also ordered these little traps that have a sticky glue sheet & a heat light above them to attract the fleas. I put those out at night, on the same day that I sprayed this, as those sticky sheets would show if there were still any living on the porch, even if not jumping on me. Luckily, I have not found any fleas in the sticky trap, just mosquitoes. Hooray for this spray! Don’t waste your time with any other products, just use this first! I wish I would’ve, it would have saved me from a dozen itchy flea bites on my ankles.

Tried the Rest...this IS the BEST!!!☝
EXCELLENT product!! We were quite SHOCKED when our "Indoor-ONLY" Kitty became infested w/ fleas! (😨YIKES!) We can only suspect that the fleas somehow entered our cozy, flea-FREE environment either by hitching a ride on the shoes/clothing of a recent visitor to our home who has pets, came in one of the many boxes or pkg deliveries we frequently receive, or one of our family members allowed a tag-along in, as they trekked thru our VERY "pet friendly" neighborhood. (That's just a 'Heads-Up' to anyone wanting to be vigilant.) At 1st we were in FULL denial when Jasmine (our kitty😻) 1st started "scratching" herself, thinking it must just be a mild case of dermatitis, or "something." Because after all, she NEVER leaves the house, so it CAN'T be fleas!! Oh, boy...how WRONG were we!!! (Consider that another 'Heads-Up!' I would suggest to just CHECK your fur baby at the VERY 1st sign of scratching/itching. DON'T make our mistake!!😰) I then noticed her scratching becoming incessant. Even to the point where she would wake from a deep sleep to SCRATCH! She even looked miserable. By the time I realized what it could possibly be, my POOR baby was infested w/ fleas!!😣 After FRANTICALLY scouring nearly EVERY website @ the internet & learning EVERYTHING there is to KNOW about FLEAS...I was ready for the "BATTLE!!!" (That's the term I hear/read ppl use all the time regarding their experience(s) with fleas. Because trust me...it IS just THAT: a full-blown "BATTLE!"😡 Lol) What I initially thought was harmless cat "dandruff" turned out to be flea EGGS! And my kitty had been shedding them everywhere in the house! (😨Yikes, again! Because I do mean EVERYWHERE!!) I headed to Amazon & LOADED my cart w/ EVERYthing & ANYthing that I thought I would need to fight this scourge of fleas! Flea & Tick: □ Shampoo, check; □ Tablets, check; □ Drops, check; □ Collar, check; □ New Vacuum Cleaner (You betcha, that's how determined I was to "WIN" this Battle! Lol) check; □ Wipes, check; □ Flea & Tick combs, check; and lastly the most important ingredient in the Recipe to kill those pesky PESTS... □ Spray!!! But, Holy Smokes...WHICH ONE?! Sooo many choices, sooo many price points!!😫 Where do I even begin?!😲 So I bought a WHOLE bunch of DIFFERENT ones: #1) Adam's: worked somewhat ok, but the smell & scent overwhelmed us, & our kitty HATED it! For the price, I thought, there could be better. #2) Hartz: GR8 price, worked relatively well. Good choice if you're needing to be extra price-conscious & need something that works. #3) Ortho (Aerosol): a bit pricey for such a small can, but does a GR8 job for hitting "hot spots" & dishing out an "instant kill!" Must use sparingly or, it'll all be gone B4 you know it! #4) Ortho (Liquid-Gal): Pretty decent job, no better or worse than the others. Didn't see any significant difference from others. #5) Black Flag Extreme Flea Killer (THIS Guy): I saved the BEST for last, because this puppy DOES the job BEST!! It incorporates the MUST-HAVE "IGR" component that helps win the "Battle" over those tiny monsters & their different "Life Stages," & you definitely NEED to catch them ALL in ALL of their various stages; adults, eggs, larvae, pupae, it has a clean scent that everyone in the house could live with, Jasmine didn't scamper off frantically at the 1st wiff of it (like she did w/ Adam's!) - in fact, she followed right behind me whilst I was spraying around the house, curious to see what I was doing - is priced quite fairly for its size (altho I noticed it went up a couple dollars from my 1st purchase to my 2nd; $11.XX to $13.XX - but that's ok👌 w/ me because it DOES WORK!👍, and it UNdoubtedly, absolutely knocked-DOWN the flea population in our humble abode, like nobody's business!!! The difference between all the other sprays & THIS guy was UNmistakable!! We noticed results almost immediately!! I can highly recommend THIS product WITHOUT ANY HESITATION!!! Needless to say...$200-$300 later I had EVERY hope that I could WIN this particular "Battle!" (Lol...I HATE losing @ ANYthing!) Knock on wood, we're about 99.9% there. (After nearly 3-4 mos of this Fight! And I'm tuckered out!😴+🤕) Yeah, I'm finding fleas...BUT, they're all DEAD fleas! (The BEST kind!😂) If you're also in the midst of a "Battle," or just beginning it, your approach has GOT to be MULTI-PRONGED!!! You CANNOT JUST give your fur baby a flea bath, or JUST put a few drops between their shoulder blades, or JUST buy them a flea collar & hope the problem goes away. (Because it WON'T!!) You MUST treat EVERYthing & EVERYwhere your 4-legged beloved one comes in contact with; Beds, Scratching Posts, Chew Toys, Favorite Blankey, etc., along w/ treating him/her. Then vacuum, Vacuum, VACUUM...like there's no tomorrow! Be VERY vigilant w/ baths, drops, buy a decent flea collar, spray liberally, etc. & watch for ANY possible ways fleas can infiltrate your home...And hopefully YOU, too, can WIN your BATTLE against those MUCH hated fleas & ticks!!! Good Luck!!! I hope my long-winded (sorry 'bout that! I had to "share" as much as I could to help YOU, the SAME way others helped ME!) dissertation proves to be of some small measure of help. Fleas & Ticks SUCK BIG TIME!!! WHO NEEDS 'EM?!!!😬 P.S. Just a ☡Cautionary Note - since I already did the Homework: Do NOT treat your pet w/ more than one treatment at a time!!! You do NOT want to overwhelm or shock their system & have them get sick. Please space your treatments, or consult your Vet for further advice. If you can't afford a Vet, check out the website: Flea Science. Terrific info & insight. (No...I'm NOT affiliated whatsoever. Just found it packed w/ exceptional knowledge.) P.P.S. If my Battle starts to falter & the remaining .01% needs to be conquered w/ something else, I've been advised that a WHOLE house "Fogging" might just do the trick! You may want to consider incorporating that in YOUR Battle. Good Luck, again! & Have a GR8 Day!!!😊

“Great Product, Terrible Sprayer – Here’s the Fix!”
Black Flag Extreme Flea Killer definitely works — but only if you apply it the right way. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars has nothing to do with the product itself, but with the cheap onboard sprayer it comes with. I bought two gallons and both sprayers broke almost instantly. On my first attempt, hardly any product came out, which made it ineffective (and this was even after I had my carpets professionally cleaned). Instead of leaving a bad review, I decided to take a different approach. I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a $13.99 hand pump garden sprayer (1¼ gallon). I poured the product into that, resprayed all my carpets, and bam! It worked exactly as all the 5-star reviews say. So here’s my advice: don’t rely on the sprayer it comes with. Get yourself a garden sprayer, apply it thoroughly, and you’ll have a win-win situation — a product that truly delivers results and peace of mind knowing your flea problem is under control.

Sprayer is terrible!! Bug spray works!!
LAST UPDATE: they eventually came back and I ended up buying 3 gallons of this bug spray and while it did knock the flea population down, it never did completely get rid of them. I was being bitten daily. I was having to spray OFF from my knees down every time I walked in the door and every morning when I woke up before my feet could hit the floor. However, I will tell you what eliminated the flea population. I went to the veterinarian and got a $79 box of a medication called Bravecto. I applied it and left it on my cat for several hours waiting for it to dry and then I brought her inside and in less than four days I have not had any flea bites at all and the veterinarian did tell me the cat with the Bravecto on board is going to be my flea eliminator. Appears she was right!! I’m giving a two star for now but I just got it. I don’t know if it works yet, but I can tell you that the sprayer is terrible. I’ve had to waste half of a bottle of home defense, clean it out disinfect the bottle and waste a whole bunch of this trying to pour it in there without the funnel I needed, so don’t expect great things from the sprayer. I will update when and if it kills the fleas. UPDATE: I received this flea killer on Monday 5/18/26. This is Wednesday evening 5/20/26. I have sprayed baseboards, area, rugs, wood floors, and I have done that to every room in the house two times now. I’ve vacuumed morning and evening. The first time there were fewer fleas, but they were still getting on me. After the second time they were still getting on me, but only in one area right here in the living room by my chair. This afternoon, I sat down in my chair after work and a flea immediately got on my wrist. I was about ready to light to match because this has been mentally and physically exhausting, that’s when it hit me. My cat slept in this chair constantly while I was gone to work and she was constantly beside me in this chair when I was home, and this is a recliner with a purchased recliner cover over it. I immediately took the cover off and the blanket thats normally on the chair and both chair arm covers and put them in steaming hot water in the washing machine for a long cycle and then dried them twice on high heat. I vacuumed the chair cracks and crevices and all over and I have not had a flea on me since I removed this chair cover. Now even when I’ve had the exterminator come years ago he told me keep up the vacuuming daily for a couple of weeks because it’s a process so I plan to continue vacuuming daily, but I have been cleaning and doing laundry this evening and I’ve been walking all around my house barefoot with no off bug spray from the knees down and have not had a single flea on me.

Only kinda works. Need a stronger formula.
This product does work, just not very well. I'd give a 2.5 star out of 5. Let me pose common questions the average person asks for this kind of product, and I will answer with direct info. Does it kill fleas? yes. Does it kill them for months afterwards? no. Does it have the correct ingredients? yes. Are those ingredients lethal enough to kill fleas on contact? somewhat. Does the product include the growth regulators? Not in high enough concentrations to matter, but yes. Is the product worth purchasing? Kinda. What are your results after spraying? Okay, here's the real story. I had a neighborhood outdoor cat decide to use my garage/basement combo in a particular area as a bed. He was nice enough to bring a completely pest free 800 sq.ft. area from a man-cave to completely uninhabitable due to a massive flea infestation he introduced. First I had to bug bomb, because the adult fleas were overwhelming in numbers. I then cleaned all clutter from the storage areas, and vacuumed all areas with my shopvac, which took over a week, spraying this product as I went. Once I was done, I sprayed this product over the entire area, making all concrete damp, but not wet. I did that procedure 3 more times, always focusing on broad scale coverage, then switching the spray nozzle to directly spray all furniture legs, ledges of everything touching the floor, all cracks in the concrete, EVERYWHERE!. I'm 2 weeks into this process, and have had about 5-7 generations of fleas emerge every couple of days after I eliminate the current adult population. The growth regulator does exist in this product, but not at a high enough concentration to do anything. Basically, this product seems to only work for the current adult population the mist can contact, but not as an instant kill such as a flea bomb. I have used 2 different flea bomb brands, one at the start of this process so I could get in there to vacuum the next day, and the next bomb from a different brand after I had the entire floors picked up, vacuumed, and sprayed with this stuff. The only thing that can eliminate the entire infestation for any length of time, are the bombs. I should also mention, I live on the southern oregon coast, and this time of year is ideal for flea population explosions. We have 70 degree, sunny weather, and because we are close to the coast, we have over 75% humidity in our basement. I have been running my industrial dehumidifier nonstop since I stopped laying layer after layer of this stuff down. Apparently, fleas, flea larvae, eggs, ect do not do well when the humidity is below about 55-60%. So the single best thing you can do for an infestation is vacuum, run a dehumidifier, vacuum some more, lay exterminator-quality poison and growth regulator treatment down, vacuum even more, keep pets/animals/people out of infested areas, and stick to a strict vacuum regimen. These F^&$%*s will be defeated!!! So do I recommend this product? Honestly, that's a tough question to answer. I want to say yes, but only if they adjust their formula. They are putting the bare minimum in to move the needle. There are better and faster ways to deal with fleas. I have done nearly everything right, and have 7 layers of this product down, spread over weeks, yet I still have an infestation with new emergence (tiny fleas). What does that tell you?
