Spice Lid

As stated, it does not come with the ring. It was too tight and would not turn easily on one of the off brand jars I used but when I switched to a Ball mason jar, it fits fine. I seriously don’t understand that but it’s not an issue just a heads-up. That said, I have three of them and plan to get more. The price is a bit high so I get one at a time. I absolutely LOVE this shaker lid. Nice heavy duty top. I use it for pint jars of kosher salt and coarse-ground pepper, and got one for the quart jar of sugar. It’ll close and stay fresh while being able to pour out to measure for recipes or shaking on food. Will be getting one at a time for my spices. I mix up my own sandwich sprinkle and everything bagel as well as others. I got the first one years ago and can’t tell it from the newer ones. Very good quality.

The quality is amazing. It fits and seals my homemade taco seasoning perfectly. I plan on buying more!

BE AWARE THAT IT TAKES REGULAR-MOUTH SIZED LIDS!! If you're someone, like me, who has a boatload of mason jars, but every one of them is wide-mouthed, you will have to purchase a jar to use this handy little item. Hence the reason I've yet to actually USE it. :( I will come back to adjust my rating if I find that after I use it I change my opinion. However, I did purchase some 4oz regular-mouthed jars to use as spice shakers with the Ball herb-shaker lids, and the ring for those jars is a VERY tight fit with this. I do not know if the 4oz jar lids are smaller than regular sized lids or not, but I would be surprised if they were (I just don't know), so that's another thing of which to be aware. Now, that aside, this is a handy little gadget and I'm glad I own it (though I think it's a bit over-priced). As I tend to spice my food liberally, we've never needed a salt or pepper shaker on the table, so YMMV. I'm planning on using it with cocoa and confectioner's (10X) sugar (or two different types of cocoa) as I tend to use those in smaller amounts than salt but still use a surprising amount of cocoa. I'm heavy on the salt and often grab it by the handful. I mainly use coarse Kosher, or Maldon sea flakes, and they just won't fit through the holes of this shaker. While typing this, it finally occurred to me to put the Maldon in one of the 4oz jars with the Ball lid, so I just did. Works beautifully! Also, I found this ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01410LTWC ) sitting in my jar cabinet. Think I'll throw some Kosher salt in a pint jar as soon as I can get a regular-mouth jar. I hate that all these products are made only for regular-mouth jars. :( Hmmm, thinking about it - fine ground Himalayan sea salt and finely ground pepper might be a great use for this product ... I may need more than 1! LOL My mind is just a'spinnin' now! :D I'm sorry this is so long. I got excited about the product! LOVE my mason jars and am always looking for ways to use them. ETA: Since someone gave this 2 stars because his coarsely ground pepper won't fit through the holes ... well, now you know! It's for use with more finely ground products (can't even use dried herbs with it). So, those of you considering purchasing this item, do so in full knowledge that it has much smaller holes than the other 2 shaker lids I've so far found for use with mason jars. YAY! At last there's a product with smaller holes as I can't use the Ball or Jarware lid with fine-ground spices.

i bought my first one for salt & pepper and it woke great (used an 8oz jar…much easier to handle at the table)…i purchased a second one to use with my Cinnamon and Cayenne….i use the both on my toast and on my Hot Chocolate (Had a friend serve it (hot chocolate) like that during a viewing of “Like Water for Chocolate” so many years ago and it's my favorite still to this day)…for my toast i just sprinkle a bit of powder sugar over it (on my toast) and let it sit in the toaster oven for a few seconds…. talk about a warm me up on a cold day…..either of these are great for that . i tend to use the combo setting for this ..and i also use a 16oz jar…. It's defiantly over priced for what you get but, i still love the convenience so i guess thats what you really pay for.

Absolutely, positively love the JarWare accessories for canning jars. I purchase many of my favorite salts, peppers and other spices in bulk. Being able to store them in large, sealed canning jars means they stay fresher for longer periods of time. I then transfer smaller quantities to smaller canning jars and use these lids for easy dispensing. The lid has several different sizes of holes for shaking or pouring. There is also a silicone seal for additional closure. The quality of the metal is substantial - I'm sure they will last a long time. I always hand-wash my favorite items to ensure the dishwasher doesn't damage them in any way, but I believe these are dishwasher safe.

I love the was it looks. I think when i have the paper & salt mode, the salt pours out alot more then the pepper. But works good

This fails in a couple of fatal ways: first, the lid does not fit standard American “wide-mouth” mason jars. See picture. The one labeled “wide mouth” does fit on the top of a regular mason jars, but since the lid is not threaded, nothing is holding it on to the jar—a fatal flaw. It promptly falls off when you invert the jar—completely and totally failing in every way to be a “wide mouth jar lid shaker top”. I will say it has a weighty and substantial feel. Assuming it is really safe, food-grade stainless steel, it would have suited my purpose perfectly.

I tried it for the first time this morning. It's everything I dreamed of. It will change my life! :) It's metal, and so won't shed microplastics on your breakfast cereal. It fits a canning jar, so you can use the size and shape of contain you prefer. Its twist top not only pours or sprinkles, but lets you control the number of holes exposed in the "sprinkle" position, so you can sprinkle fast or slow. I'll let you know how durable it is in a few years. BTW, it doesn't screw directly onto a jar; it fits under a canning ring. That's not a drawback, but make sure you have a spare canning ring on hand along with a jar.

見つけた時は見た目良くて便利！って思ったけど使ってみたら違った。ツマミを回す度に縁に付着したコショウや塩が穴から入り混ざる。塩・コショウ・塩&コショウの3種類が使えるはずが、いつのまにか塩&コショウのみに。。。

These lids are a great invention. I have turned many of my mason jars into spice containers with ease. They are excellent quality, have a nice tight fit & seal and easily cleaned. Highly recommend for all those spices and baking supplies that you use in larger quantities on a regular basis.

Lo mas importante es destacar que no incluye nada mas que el aditamento para la pimienta del medio. No trae ni el cincho o boca del frasco, ni el frasco mismo. Yo me fui con la idea de las imagenes y pense que venia todo. Tampoco se puede usar con los frascos de poca altura, lo que hace que se convierta en un salero/pimentero bastante grande para la mesa. Fuera de eso, es muy buena idea.

Je l'utilise pour mon parmesan et je suis très satisfait de l'utilisation et tu fonctionnement. Matériaux de très bonne qualité.
