Reach more areas of feet than large models; faster than emory board!
As a former competitive ballroom dancer, my feet are -- well, shall we say -- not my best feature! I need to work on them every week or so to keep callouses from hardening and cracking, especially in the dry, northern winter months! I've used just about everything on the market. I've been tempted by the fancy new "electric" models (which are actually mostly just battery run), which purport to keep your feet looking great with little effort. Well, after reading about a kazillion reviews, I realize those units don't hold up any better than this one! Moreover, the replacements are far more costly, and not as effective. I mean, I was tempted to buy a sander from the hardware store if I could find one small enough! But mainly, they just don't reach all of the areas this little puppy reaches. True, I wear them out every so often, as it can take me nearly an hour to work on both feet (especially if I'm watching TV at the same time). But replacing these once a year will still take a VERY LONG TIME to cost me as much as the fancy ones showing up everywhere these day! And it's definitely WAY easier than even the best emory boards.

Works well if you know the tricks
I've had this product for several years and it works very well to smooth the calluses on my feet and heels. I'm very pleased with it. It's definitely cheaper than spending money on frequent pedicures. It is cheaply made, but for the money it does a great job. I use it about once a month or so. After a few uses it died on me and I was very frustrated, so it sat in the box for months and months. I tried and tried, but couldn't get it to turn on. Then I got my husband to take it apart to see if it could be fixed, and he was able to determine that it has a faulty switch. There is a simple fix to make it turn on.1. Grab the handle in your hand and hold the unit upright or even leaning a little toward you. As you push the switch from OFF to ON, press the switch IN. It may take a couple of tries to get it going, but it will start.2. Do not store the four AA batteries in the unit. Take them out and store them in the box until you're ready to use it next time. The batteries won't run down if they are stored in the box, outside of the unit.3. The batteries should last a long time, but if the unit still won't start, test your batteries. You may need new ones.4. The directions say that you shouldn't use the unit for more than 10 minutes at a time. I suppose it will get too hot and burn out the parts. So follow those instructions.Since my husband figured out how to make the thing turn on, I've been wanting to post a review so that everyone else will know the trick. I hope it helps.

What a piece of crap
It is very cheaply made. (what did I expect for the price?). Anyway, can't get the massage head off. Useless directions simply telly you to push and pull head off to put the one that can grind on. I have pushed and pulled at every point in the 360 degrees it can turn. NOTHING. Can't get it off. Plus the head and sanding discs are made in such a way that you can't use the thin edge to grind, so can't get in narrow spaces around nail ends. I'm going to look for a different design.

It works well
I like this product. I'm amazed I found an 'as seen on tv product' that doesn't fail. I've tried an 'egg' type product in the past but that didnt leave the polished finish this product does. It's efficency is comprable to a pumice stone minus the elbow grease and time a pumice stone requires. It is a noisy, but I don't mind because it does what I need it to do. It comes with a few replacement heads but I have yet to try to order more. So far I like it. I use it after I shower when my feet are softest. I use a sloughing cream afterwards for more smothness. I saw a difference after my first use, but it is a tool for routine use. If you have really bad feet, this may not be strong ebough. I work in the desert and wear boots all day. It works for me!

Decent item
This item is not too bad. I believe it would be wonderful if it had an electric cord, but it is decent for the price. It does do well in filing the dead skin off, but if you have really bad feet (which my hubby does) it will lose juice fast. We have to put four new patteries in every time we do his feet. I am going to look for an electric one, but really, if your heel is just a little rough, this does work and would be a good investment for you.

HAVE USED THESE FOR YEARS - BEST I HAVE FOUND, ALTHO THEY DON'T LAST FOREVER
I replace them about once a year. Obviously the more you use them, the more often you have to replace batteriesI suggest getting replacement disks because it's like a mini sander and the more your feet need to be buffed, the faster you go through the disks (that just stick on with adhesive).I have gotten MANY of these and only got one that didn't work and got a replacement.THESE WORK BETTER than some much more expensive ones. You have to go easy, because they remove dry skin so quickly, doesn't take long to overdo.I then put lotion on my heels and, at close to 70, I have soft heels! I will continue to buy these as long as they're available.
