Love em but really want the tan in a Men's Large
I have worn these gloves on many rides for several months. I have the tan version, and find that for summer/hot weather riding, the light tan color reflects the heat, instead of absorbing it. My hands feel cool and comfortable after hilly rides of 30 or more miles in hot and humid weather. The thin weave crochet fabric does not feel scratchy like some of the thicker yarns I have seen on gloves. It feels smooth against the skin and just makes my hands feel comfy. I do not find the padding to be too thin, in fact, feels just right for me. I bought the pair I have now at a local bike shop almost two years ago as a spare pair. After wearing out my other gloves, I pulled them out and started wearing them a few months back and thought, wow, these feel great, I should have started wearing them sooner. They are doing fine, but I am concerned since the palms are not leather, they will wear quickly. So I went back to the shop I bought them from to get another spare pair (or maybe even two), and found they no longer carry them. I then checked Avenir's web site, and it looks as if they are no longer making the tan. Drats. So, I am ordering a black pair now from Amazon, and I will wear them just because I like the feel, but not having tan in my size and discovering that they do not appear to be making them in that color anymore is disappointing. I hope somebody from Avenir happens to read this: the tan color looks cool, and also helps your hands stay cool! Bring them back! Giving a five star review on comfort alone, and hoping that the company begins to re-stock the light tan color.

These are similar but not exact to some Avenir Classic Comfort Cycling Gloves I had previously purchased. These gloves help "wick" away moisture & perspiration better from the top of your hands. The medium size did seem a little snug at first - but stretched out enough after the first couple of rides. If in doubt - you may want to order one size up.A few people have complained about the thin padding. Maybe I'm a liitle different. I don't like a lot of padding - just enough to take the edge off is good for me. Do I use these extensively? YES! 20, 25 & 30 mile rides are not out of the question, possibly up to 3 times per week. I'm retired...if I feel like going for a long ride whenever - I go & go & go...Gloves with really thick padding (to me) take away all the "feel" of riding. Before ya know it, your hands are numb & you can't figure out why. Using these gloves & changing hand positions from time to time on my road bike work out well.

People know I'm cool when I wear these at the mall.
I don't bike, but I do find it important to look tough and cool at all times. These bad boys will do the work for you. You put these on with a denim jacket, hop in your Toyota Corolla and that's all you need to do. The ladies will fall all over you like a waterfall onto another waterfall. You think John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Wilt Chamberlain, or Arnold Schwarzenegger were successful because they were talented? Yeah right; they own these gloves. I know first hand. I was the snake handler for "Snakes on a Plane" and Sam Jacks (as he likes to be called) told me so.These are the real deal.Best places to wear them:- the mall- weddings- to bed- any black tie event really- christmas tree farms- online shopping- first dates- last dates- while making smoothies in the kitchen- chipotle- state fairs- on the couch (watching diners, drive-ins, and dives preferably)- driver's ed courses- court dates- cooking- relaxing in the tub with some white wine

They Will Stretch
Sometimes I get rational when I buy things. I went to my LBS (Local Bike Shop) and tried on a bunch of expensive gloves to get a feel for sizing. The cheapest was about 30 bucks. The XLs seemed to fit best so I order this pair in XL and save a bunch of money. After about a month of use I probably should have went with the L because they do stretch. However, they still fit well enough and I completely solved my numb hands issue that prompted me to get cycling gloves in the first place. There are no annoying neon colors on my black gloves, they don't get too hot and the velcro is holding up great after a month of daily use. I don't expect to see these on any of the riders at the Tour de France but they're a great value for the average cyclist.

Great gloves for the right reasons.
I just started cycling again after many years. When I bought my new "comfort" bike recently I noticed that my hands started to ache along the outside edge from the handle bars. I bought these gloves to end that situation. These gloves have just the right amount of padding to keep my hands from aching. They also give me more grip on the handle bars for safety. Another lady I know bought a pair of these also because she has the rotate type shifters and these gloves make it a lot easier to grip the shifters for more smooth shifting. These gloves are easy to put on and remove and they fit under full fingered gloves to keep my hands warm in the really cool weather. Now I have Avenir pedals, seat and gloves. Nice combination.

Excellent Fit, Cool, Comfortable, Durable, Exceptional Value
So far so good with these new gloves. I have probably gone through 20 pairs of gloves in my lifetime, as they just wear out eventually. These fit nicely, and I really like the padding on the palm. It seems nicer than so many gloves I have owned in the past. I have never had a mesh fabric on gloves before, but I love it. It's very breathable. If you've ever gotten hot hands while riding, you'll appreciate this ultra-breathable fabric. As for sizing, I am sometimes disappointed by gloves that fit too tightly or too loosely. These fit TRUE TO SIZE--just right. For the price, I don't know how you can go wrong with these gloves.
