Smackdown High Visibility Braided Fishing Line, Flash Green, Multiple Sizes

I’ve been running Seaguar Smackdown braid for a while now, mostly on my spinning setups, and it’s honestly become one of my go-to lines for finesse fishing. The first thing I noticed when I started using it was how smooth it casts. It comes off the spool clean and quiet, and I can definitely get longer casts with lighter baits compared to some other braids I’ve used. One of the biggest reasons I stick with Smackdown is the sensitivity. With techniques like drop shots and shaky heads, I can feel even the lightest bites, especially when fish are being finicky. There’s almost no stretch, so hooksets feel solid even when I’m fishing deeper water or around structure. Another thing I really like is how thin the diameter is. You get a lot of line on the spool without sacrificing strength, and it handles really well on spinning reels. I usually pair it with a fluorocarbon leader, and it’s been very reliable with knot strength—I haven’t had many failures as long as I tie clean knots. That said, it’s definitely more of a finesse braid in my opinion. It holds up well around rocks and docks, but I wouldn’t choose it for heavy flipping or punching thick grass. It’s also a little on the pricey side compared to some other braids, but for the performance, I think it’s worth it. One small downside I’ve noticed is that the color does fade over time, but honestly that’s pretty common with most braided lines and hasn’t affected performance for me. Overall, Seaguar Smackdown has been extremely dependable for my finesse setups. If you spend any time throwing drop shots, Ned rigs, or shaky heads, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. It’s smooth, sensitive, and strong where it needs to be, and it’s earned a permanent spot on my spinning rods.

This braid is the smoothest, slickest that I've found so far. Many claim to be smooth, this one you can easily feel the difference.

Over the past 10+ years I've used a number of different braids on both my spinning and casting reels. This Smackdown is pricey compared to some other braids but it's the best braid I've used on spinning gear. It's softer and quieter through the guides than any braided line I've used. I don't recomment this line on casting reels only because of how easy it frays when fishing in cover. Wether you want a 4 strand or 8+ I think there are better options at lower cost.

Seaguar braided line and leaders are the best on the market. They are worth the price.

I was looking for an alternative to Suffix Advance 832 15 lb braided line and decided to buy this. The 15 lb Suffix had a tendency to become frayed within a few days of usage, leading to having to cut line and retie leaders and swivels many times to prevent line from snapping while casting with lures in the saltwater. I've been using this line for about 2 months now and have seen no fraying and haven't had my line snap. I've also noticed that this line stays stiff while the Suffix has a tendency to become weak and loose. I'd recommend this line for people who cast with lures in the saltwater.

NOTE TO THE SELLER: You need to update your title! This is NOT Fluorocarbon line! This is braided line. VERY different! This is the smoothest and most round 8 strand braid I have ever used. The line virtually jumps off my rod on every cast. I am getting a noticeable difference in distance. The high vis green color is very noticeable out on the water which is exactly what you want in a high vis line. I've been fishing all my life and at 50 years old I feel I have come close to buying almost every brand of braided line on the market. This has been the only line that has been worth paying a premium price for. Everything else has essentially been pretty much the same, at least in performance. So if you want the best you can get, then get this. If you don't want to pay the price for this stuff, then just get the 8 braid Hercules because it's cheap and just as good as any 8 strand braid I have used except obviously for this Seaguar Smackdown.

Got this on Black Friday on a super deal went out fishing that weekend with it on 2 reels and it’s silky smooth casting probably won’t buy again unless it’s on sell because it’s high but awesome

Seems like good braid, but some of the green coating came off while I was spooling it onto my reel. I contacted Seaguar three times for feedback and heard nothing. Hopefully it doesn't hinder performance. Not sure about longevity of the colour. Casts really well. Easy to see. MUCH cheaper elsewhere so shop around!!! Update: The colour fades quickly. The fibres tend to unravel easily too.
