Absolutely everything advertised in a tiny but sturdy package.
I love this. I got it quick and easy, in perfect condition.1. The weight is a comfort to me. It's a longer necklace with a longer capsule but it's heavy duty and it's just a psychological boost to know I have a cutting tool and fire making necessities at my finger tips.2. The bonus pencil lead is genius. There's also a fine needle with a string for emergencies.3. While there isn't a ton of room in the capsule you could stand to replace parts as needed. I won't but I could probably squeeze a pill capsule of magnesium granules in there for some extra simple fire starting.4. The lanyard itself is nice and sturdy with no fraying or burns I've had in other paracord.5. The scraper and ferro rod are perfectly functional but of course small for convenience and accessibility so knowing how to use them before ending up in a situation is a must.Altogether I love this. The owner reached out to me and informed me of their small business and I absolutely support their humility, integrity, and dedication in this competitive market. I'll be buying from them again, have no doubt.

Works, but too bulky for EDC
This is a nice backup fire starter survival necklace. Comes nicely presented in a small holtzman's box. It works ok right out of the box. But I had to sharpen the strikers edge's using a carbide end mill insert. Now it's sharp and throws more sparks down. I wanted one of these survival type necklace's to wear as EDC. Having it now however, I think the striker is a little on the big/heavy side to wear everyday. It's the same size striker that comes with their knives. The ferro rod is 1-¼, striker is 2-¼x⅝ and paracord is 27-¼.It's still a handy backup fire starter. I like full size striker's, believe me I do. But maybe not so much on an EDC necklace. I'll wear it on weekend getaways or something. The fact you get fishing line and jute twine inside the paracord is a great feature. The barrel break away clasp functions perfectly I'd say. It shouldn't ever just come undone and fall off. And it's not going to choke you if you were to fall and it gets snagged on something like a tree branch while your in the woods. It has the right amount of force to let the clasp break away.*Side note: On the necklace I received when I pull tested the break away clasp, the paracord has never pulled out through either of the barrels. That's good. All said and done though, I do like it and I'll continue to purchase holtzman's product's. But like I mentioned earlier, I think the striker is on the big/heavy side for me to wear everyday. That's just my preference though, you may not mind the size and weight and find it to be perfect for your EDC. Holtzman's needs a lighter version survival necklace that comes with a ceramic striker with their logo on it...I'd purchase that in a second. Also, I wish Holtzman's could get their 90 degree edge's sharper. I have two of their Knives. The "lavaline" and "bloodline" and each one came with a striker, and the edge's on those are slightly rounded over like this was.I'm not taking a star off for being too big/heavy for EDC because that's just my preference, that's not holtzman's fault. But I am taking one off because I had to sharpen the edge's of the striker myself. One more thing...I'm glad Holtzman's didn't go overboard and put metal snare wire inside the paracord like some other brands do. Just my opinion but I don't think anyone needs to be wearing a necklace with metal snare wire in it around their neck...break away clasp or not.

Waterproof fire kit and more
This survival necklace is not an all in one, meets-all-needs kit. It's not meant to be. Like most small EDC kits of it's type, it is meant to suppliment your full kit in a pinch. This kit is composed of a length of paracord formed into an adjustable neck lanyard, on which is tethered a small ferro rod, small saw tooth striker, and a water tight brass vial which houses the remainder of the kit (small razor blade, cotton swab, sewing needle and thread, small pencil, and small piece of paper). The main focus of the kit, from my perspective, is a supplental fire kit. Of course, each item has the potential for multiple purposes, but I see it mainly for fire. For the purpose of testing the kit, I wrote with the pencil on the paper. Of course it works... it's a pencil. There is always a need for taking notes, or leaving a note in a survival situation, and the paper, of course, can be used as tinder for fire. The sewing needle and thread is obviously useful for mending rips or tears in your clothing or gear. A nice addition.I'm not sure of the intended purpose of the cotton swab and the razor, but I used the razor to fluff the cotton off the stick, and make some shavings from the stick to easily spark a flame with the ferro rod and striker.Sure, the ferro rod is small, as is the striker, but as I said this is meant to be a suppliment to your full size kit. Maybe you left your bag back at camp and suddenly find yourself in need of a fire. Shame on you if you aren't prepared enough to have a backup or supplimental fire kit on you. This can be that kit.The brass vial has an o-ring that seals it, making it a useful container for tinder such as a cotton ball, fat wood shavings, a small roll of birch bark, or some jute twine.Overall, I think the kit is well thought out and executed, and the ability to have a waterproof fire kit on my neck is worth every penny.

Get a Supplementary Flint tool as Well
I'm giving this 3 stars because the flint and steel is so difficult to use. It's too small and in a true survival situation, I would not want to rely on the small amount of sparks to ignite anything. The cord and other tools that come with this are great though.
