I replaced one of the mandrels from my Craftsman 917270912 craftsman 19.5hp 42, it was a pain to remove the old one had to cut it out. Installation was very simple once the old one was out, mounting screws/bolts go in easily not like a few reviews I saw that the holes on the mandrel weren’t threaded I had no problems with it. The only thing is that the blade didn’t seat all the way into the mandrel’s star like shaft.

i bought this in march 2018 and it is still working great. will buy again if the other one goes out.easy to install.

Replacement mandrel worked great. The fist order, mandrel bearing was not pressed in correctly, failed within 20 of operation. Now on the replacement, box needed more packing to protect during shipping. Pieces of the body cooling fins broken off.

Fairly easy to install these parts. They were pre drilled and ready to go. The old lawn mower runs much smoother and quieter now.

The nut which holds the pulley on was too large for the shaft. The nut on my old one was too small. The nut was the last thing to put on, so I had to completely dismantle and take the shaft out of my old one and put it in the new housing. Other than having to install it twice, blessing it and pulling hair out of my head, it is now working okay!

Stay away from this spindle. A standard 21" mower blade with a (standard) 5 point star mounting hole does not fit this spindle. This spindle would not accept any of my existing 21" blades. The 5 point star on the spindle does not match the 5 point star hole in the blade (the blade will not slip over the 5 point star on the spindle). I spent at least an hour filing the star points on the spindle to allow the blade to fit, but finally gave up. I contacted a local mower service shop and will purchase a new spindle from them. For the convenience of ordering through Amazon, this isn't worth the hassle of having to remove it only to purchase locally.

All parts included , good quality materials. All fittings lined up perfectly. Removal of broken part was the only hard part to this job.
