This device works well if connected to the internet, otherwise it is just extra weight to carry. It has no way to find internet connections, so using it out of doors or where secure internet connections, is not possible. I think improved connectivity , especially outside the USA would make it more useful.

I like this product very much. Just connect wifi and set it as your native language. You can communicate with foreigners very easily. I bought this product for my mother-in-law. She doesn't speak English.. but With this product, she is very happy to take out shopping anywhere and with out worry and even start to communicate with neighbors. It's great product .

I bought this translator for my grandma, she has hard time to communicate with English. She was so excited to have this. But unfortunately it didn’t work well. The sound of the translator is very low. I put on the maximum. It hardly hear anything. So disappointed have to send it back!

This product will be most helpful in communicating with my family in Vienna. Some of the older relative do not speak English and I believe this translator will be the answer. In the few testings I performed with it, the device is working properly. I strongly recommend when using it to speak slowly and clearly. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this for the purpose to use in Italy, to learn the language and help with translations. It worked fine in the US just as the instructions say but when we got to Italy it did not recognize the languages and stops auto translating.It was very frustrating to try a hit and miss of what was needed to get this device to work. I will say it does translate very accurately but there are items no one tells you about such as: You must take all manual set ups off and set everything to automatic. You must have Wi-Fi on at all times, not PUBLIC but one that you carry on you...such as a person Wi-Fi, i.e. Vodafone device.
