Great Chopper
Probably not the greatest steel, but still a great tool all around. I have used it a lot since I purchased it, and it has done everything I have needed it to. The weight distribution is fantastic so it chops through things as well or better than things twice the size. Some reviews I read mentioned that it is difficult to sharpen, but I disagree. It is obviously different to sharpen, due to the unique blade shape, but really not hard. You will get plenty of practice too because it doesn't hold the greatest edge, but when you get a good edge on it, you can chop, baton, feather stick, etc.

Works great
It has held up great and holds an edge while being put to work. For the price you can't beat it !

Nice Sharp Chopper
Received it today. The external box was okay but inside the blister pack was torn. The knife and sheath are fine. The blade was extremely sharp. It is a nice knife to hold - light and lively. The grip is solid and comfortable. I give the sheath a "B" because it uses Velcro strap to secure the knife at the handle instead of a snap. This will make a good camp knife and a knife for around the garden for any shrubs that need cutting back.

Love it.
Good camping utility blade

great sheath and good blade
The sheath is nice and quick but sturdy enough for collisions. I traversed a canyon and slipped and fell on the sheath; it did not break or hurt me.

My favorite machete
I don't expect to use my longer machetes again. This one chops just as well, due to forward-heavy design, and it is much easier to lug around on my belt all day.

Not a terrible knife for what it is
I am not regretful for purchasing this, but this would be for specific tasks and not all of what it is advertised for. First, I would not use this for batoning. Although the blad is thick and it is profiled correctly. the hole in the front would surely snap the blade. If batoning, I wouldn't attempt any hardwood, only saplings. As for a quick machete that is light and comfortable, this knife will work adequately. The sheath is probably the biggest downfall and will eventually need to be replaced with some type of leather or custom kydex sheath. It is light plastic and the thumb retainer will eventually break or bend to a point it will no longer hold the knife in place. It is definitely not one of Gerber's best knives, but not bad for light use on reeds and grass. Good for maybe carrying along in a fishing pack or light duty backpacking use. I recommend it for size and light duty use only. If looking for something much stronger and heavier-duty, stick to Rowen or TOPS. For my purposes and observations of its general use, only three stars.

Very Satisfying machete.
Chopped down and carved several 8' birch poles before it needed a touch up to hone the edge back. Good steel, great edge grind and weight. My hand was happy with the grip, I will continue chopping and carving with my Gerber.

I'm happy
Had to sharpen it when it got it but wow. Small enough to cut your steak with. Chops small soft wood trees down with ease. For a super long hike where every pound matters I'll take this over a hatchet . It can serve multiple purposes.

Does the job
I needed something for clearing scrub brush around my yard. This blade is the perfect shape and length to allow enough weight without being unwieldy or dangerous. Just wish it had a better sheath, the nylon one it comes with frayed immediately.
