Not what is in the picture or description
We had one of these label makers for years and it has started to have issues with the print so we wanted a replacement but wanted to stick with the same item as we already had the label tapes etc. The item shown is a Rhino 6000 which is actually a discontinued model but I thought I was lucky enough to find some leftover stock. Turns out it is a 6000+ not the 6000 I wanted. It would make sense that the 6000+ is better than the 6000 but actually it has a couple of the 6000 features removed, they should call it the 6000-. This will do for what we need though so we will hang on to it.

Great Unit, Great Price
I have seen these sell close to 300.00. This was a great deal. I had a Rhino 5000 for years, upgraded to the Brother 7600, and now back to the Rhino. I prefer the Rhino labels for labeling wires

Outstanding labeling unit
This unit prints just about anything and if it is used with the PC software, makes printing and entering multiple labels for lots of wire a breeze!.

Do not buy this item
I bought this item and do not recommend you waste your money. My dissatisfaction with this product is as follows:1. The consumables are far too expensive.2. The characters far too frequently have lines through that require you to reprint the lablel. This is especially true when the characters are small and are expected to be raped around the wire itself.3. The software included is cumbersome to use.4. I bought this to label 200 + connections and what attracted me was the advertised feature that you can feed the labels in to the software in mass! I was shocked to find out that there was no way to insert an instruction into label steam to have the device cut the stock between each label. So here I was with an 8 foot long coil of labels that I had to manually cut with scissors.5. The cut off location is indented so deep that you often time trouble extracting the label. This is far to expensive of a device to have such quality, accessibility, and functionality issues.

Supposed to be an industrial label Maker, so you would expect it to be good.
The overall build quality of this item is good, with rubber surrounding it to protect it from accidental drops. The carrying case is very high quality, too. The print quality is one area where this guy is lacking. I put a label cartridge into it and printed a label. The label came out with gaps in the print. The jobs I do at work require all cables to be labeled, and the labels are expected to be good quality. I wouldn't consider putting something from this label maker on the cables I install and showing it to the end users. As much as I wanted to like this thing, and it certainly is visually nice, I just couldn't get past the gaps in the printing. I have seen enough other labels on job sites to know there are good quality printers out there, but sadly this is not one of them. When I saw the new price of this dude (almost $1000.00) I opted for a used one instead. The unit looked almost new with no scratches visible on it anywhere, so I was especially shocked that it was unable to do a clean print. I saw the other reviews and took a chance anyway hoping my experience would be different. It wasn't, so the unit went back and my search for a high quality label maker continues.

ok buy.
Learning curve is long. Tapes are $$$. I rather use my cheap label maker.

The gift recipient for this Item loves it!
About 3 years ago I gave a small Brother portable labeler to a friend's 8 year old boy a a gift. He remained fascinated with his label maker all these years so last year I purchased this item for him as a combination birthday and Christmas gift. Although this appears to be a bit extravagant, my little pal takes his job as the family "labeler" very seriously. He understands it's not a toy and appreciates that the labels cassettes are very expensive and can't be wasted. Amazingly he continues to keep the labeler in top order and is "at the ready" to create labels for any family member or friend on request. Extremely cute and the labels are great!

Definatly worth the money!
Does what it is supposed too, but on the permanent polyester text kind of so so. On the self laminating wire wraps though, they look outstanding. Shrink tubing looks good too. Just wish they had a Qwerty key board instead of the alphabetical system. Alto of quick function keys which helps get things going. But kind of throws you a curve when you are used to going through hoops to get what you want. Such as layout of a label or wire tag. This one shows you on screen and even has a back light too. And right now very reasonably priced since she was replaced with a new model.
