Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter Compatible with Canon FD & FL 35mm SLR Lenses to Canon RF (EOS-R) Mount Mirrorless Camera Bodies

A well made adapter which snugly fits both my Canon CMOS R50V and my older but very good Canon 35-105 FD Macro-Zoom lens that was originally used with a Canon A1 35mm Film Camera. This adapter gave my old (but highly prized) lens new life with my 6K over-sampled 4K Canon R50V. It’s saved me a lot of money. I have set the lens manually but I prefer having that kind of control over the video recording process and absolutely hate auto-focus (the best auto-focus is still terrible IMHO) and my old lens, thanks to this adapter, is giving me crystal clear images with a better lens than most lenses being sold for the RF Mount today…

No concerns with quality or functionality here, adapts my vintage FD lenses with zero issues.

Great in every way - except that Canon back caps are loose - which is not OK. This adapter has 2 advantages over the typical adapter. First, it's very light. Second, it's machined to spec - you don't have to adjust the adapter so that it's right side up on the adapter. If the lens is correctly machined (and one of the 7 I have isn't), it'll be upright.

It is a great & perfect product! I gave it 4 stars just because I received a used product. I decided to test it before return, then I loved it & kept it. I am using it on my EOS R, with 24-105 F4 prime lens. it starts focusing from 35mm up to 105mm. More over by changing the aperture I got different depth of fields, the closer the more DF. I noticed the focal length is not fixed & I can move backward & forward to find the best view & frame for the shot. Sharpness is great as well as auto focus which is fast. Thanks to EOS R tilt monitor, I shot a selfie-eye, you can see the focus point is not what expected but the sharpness is fine. in the second picture I am trying to give you an over view of Depth of Field by different apertures. I didnt use any pro-lighting equipment because I dont have any, just have a police torch with bluish color tone. Finally I was about to spend around 700 USD for a 100mm F2.8 Macro lens but decided to give this tube a try. if infinity focusing is not important for you it is a perfect product. This works well, and is a good solid fit. When buying off-brand China-made products such as this, it is always a gamble if the fit and finish will be exact. When you are working with camera equipment, a slight variation in fit can damage your very expensive Japanese or German camera, so this is the primary reason for "5 stars". It doesn't do anything and has no moving parts, so this is the most important point to evaluate.

This adapter is for manual focus lenses, so ratings for autofocus and image stabilization have no meaning. Neither is available, unless your camera has IBIS. Then, autofocus is still impossible. This adapter is well-made of good material, it is sturdy, and the fit and function are perfect with most FD and FL lenses and accessories on my EOS RP. My FL 58mm f/1.2 lens does not fit, because a hump on the back of the lens will not allow the adapter to lock on. This is not the fault of the adapter, though. I had to remove the tripod mount to use this with bellows units, but it is easy to do and reversible if I want to put it back on. All in all, this is a virtually perfect adapter.

I just picked up an EOS RP - and I have several nice, old FD lenses that I still occasionally shoot film with on an old F1. I went with the Fotodiox brand because I've heard of them before - more so than any of the other Chinese manufacturers listed here. It was about twice the price, but I had higher confidence with them. The adapter arrived yesterday. My FD lenses now work with the new EOS RP. This is a manual adapter! There is an open/stop down switch on the adapter. You have to manually stop the lens down and use Manual, AV, or FV metering modes on the camera. There is also a tripod (1/4") mount of the adapter, which seems kind of pointless, but it's there. Nice, well-made gadget.

I bought this adapter to use with a new mirrorless R10 camera. I have 3 Canon FD lenses from my Canon AE-1 Program film camera that I wanted to use. One of my frustrations with other autofocus cameras was that autofocus was always difficult to manage, even when set to manual focus. This adapter, although totally manual for focus and exposure, is excellent. I'm blown away at the quality of the pictures I'm getting with being able to use my old lenses on my new camera. I would heartily recommend it to others.

El adaptador tiene una excelente calidad y terminado, aunque la presentacion de dos colores no es muy estetica, fuera de eso cumple su funcion de manera perfecta, los lentes se ajustan de manera correcta y pueden enfocar a infinito sin mayor dificultad, al no tener cristales intermedios no afecta con la calidad del lente y los resultados son realmente buenos. El precio me parece bastante elevado hasta 3 veces mas con respecto a otras marcas de calidad similar aunque los detalles de construccion de este adaptador lo hacen un poco mas confiable.

I had to replace another brand with this one as not all my 645 lenses worked with the other brand. Pleased to say this works well with both 35mm and 45mm lenses, is robust and should last a lifetime. Picture shows it on my canon R8 with the Pentax 45mm Lighter than the tilt shift adapter so good for long walks (eg see image from the path up Mont Sainte Victoire).
