Portable radio - the way it's supposed to be!
I got this to replace my old GpX radio. I had it for years and it finally went. Found the replacement, or close to it, and decided to try it. The price was right and did not disappoint. I admit I'm old school and listen to sports and talk radio - A LOT! No Bluetooth, wi-fi, connect with other devices needed. Plug in ( or batteries), tune in, and listen!

Clock
I bought this clock radio because I wanted something that ran on batteries for the bathroom since I only have one outlet at the sink. Happy with the radio. It has rubber feet and doesn't slide around. My only frustration is that the clock is very small, not lit and it does not show when the radio is on although you can push the buttons to see the time. I would buy again keeping that in mind.

You get what you pay for!
I liked this at first because it's single large speaker did a good job with what I listen to most while working around the house: talk, sports, and news. Finding stations was a little easier with the digital tuner than my old radio with an analog dial. Presets would make it even better but, at this price, I could live without them. The problems started about six months in when the on/off-volume switch started acting up. Sometimes the radio did not turn on; other times the volume was muted until I played with the switch or would just drop out after playing for a few minutes. Then the digital tuner started to drift. When the unit was barely a year old it stopped working completely. I guess I could buy a new radio every year at a cost of a little over a dollar per month of use. Instead, I ordered a Panasonic RF-2400. It cost a little more, but I am hopeful that it will last as long as the 1970's Panasonic boombox I have in my garage.

hit pretty hard, chewed on etc
I bought this awhile back and it's still working. I use it for my dog room so its been knocked over, hit pretty hard, chewed on etc. and it works perfectly. Its not great at picking up a lot of stations, but because I use it for my dogs I only really keep it on one station anyway. It can get very loud and can be heard throughout the house if I want it to. All in all exactly what I needed and great for the price.

Serves it's purpose, but not fantastic.
It serves it's purpose, but nothing spectacular. I got it for my desk at work and wanted something smaller and less expensive. The annoying part is it randomly gets static, for no apparent reason, and then resolves. This happens frequently throughout the day. I've tried different positions and using the antennae. I like that it has a clock, but you can't use the clock function when the radio is on. You can press the lock button, but it will only display the time briefly. I also made the mistake of assuming it had a usb port for the feature of playing music from your phone (another reason I had specifically purchased this, but it was my mistake). It could've had a better description of that function. Like I said, it plays music and it is nice that the tuner is digital for accuracy.

Basic radio (read more for tips to set clock)
Pros:1. Great design with nice handle.2. Sound is decent.3. Reception is better than radios without such antenna.4. Volume knob5. Best feature, which is not available in any speaker or radio in entire amazon catalog. It has both 3.5mm input and 3.5mm head phone/ output jack.6. The power adapter can be neatly tucked in the back battery comlartment.Cons:1. No auto scan feature. Need to use dial every time.2. No radio memory. Just remembers last station.3. Speaker is basic but clear. No Bluetooth or bass., No remote.4. Not an mp3 player, can not use sd card or usb to play songs. How to set clock time: Very confusing and manual is misleading. First switch off the radio using the lower rotary knob. To set clock press both "set time" and "h/m" buttons at the same time. You can keep clicking h/m to increase the unit value. If you leave the set time button while setting h/m, it will stop changing the unit. Hope this helps. To see time while radio is playing, you have to press "display time". It will stay for short time.

Impressed
Really didn't expect much in the way of quality for the price. I was pleasantly surprised for a change! I had a wide array of local stations to choose from.We decided to get a portable radio for our little dog, Baxter when we aren't home. Previously we had used our tv, but it burnt the last tv's screen out. This was an obvious choice. The features that are nice for the money - handle, truley portable (the cord can be stowed in the compartment that holds the battery); decent sound quality, lots of station options.Places this would be great for - camping, emergency backup during storms, pool or beach, working in yard or shop. Versatile, compact and a great value for the money.
