Surprising quality for the price
I have bought a lot of very expensive amps that arent built as well as this one, specially for the price. All the connections are well laid out, all the controls are easily adjusted, the body is well built and very clean looking. The manual is very well written and easily understood with a lot more info than a lot of higher priced models. I have been running this amp bridged at 2 Ohms for a week now, it has performed flawlessly without overheating even once, I have it mounted in a pretty tight area that doesnt get much air circulation, in fact I had an MTX amp mounted in the same spot and it would constantly overheat and go into protection. As far as sound quality goes it sounds very good! No noise, very clean and solid bass, I am able to play it far louder than the MTX and Rockford Fosgate it replaced, it actually sounds like it was made to listen to not just to make speakers go boom. I listen to music not Rap and it sounds very smooth no matter what I play. Drums sound like drums, bass guitars sound like guitars not like a horrible low frequency buzz. I was so happy with the quality that I bought a SSL EV4.400 four channel amp for my mids and tweets, I also bought a SSL S4EQ to control everything. If these units last a month with the punishment I give them I will be buying more SSL products. It's nice to know someone makes a quality amp that doesnt cost a fortune! I wouldnt hesitate to recomend this amp to anyone looking for a quality product at a very good price!

Excellent amp, at a bargain price.
I shopped around and compared amps, and their technical specs for quite a while. Many amps claim quite ridiculous things, like peak power ratings that youll never attain, with subpar RMS ratings for usual configurations. This amp delivers in just about every way, especially for the price. Highly configurable, even supporting a 2ohm bridged load. This amp looks and feels like quality, if it werent for the brand name printed on it, you might suspect its a more expensive make like Rockford or Kenwood. Makes my 2 10" Polk 400watt SVC subs hit hard, and with excellent clarity. No muddling of the frequency space between the booming lows you might find in low quality amps, I can make out lots of detail throughout it's range. I've been running this amp for about 6 months now with no problems, hasnt overheated or gone into protect mode once. I would highly recommend this amp, and others of this brand.

Don't run in bridged mode...
This amp has a very nice look to it. It is constructed of mainly aluminum with a really nice looking finish. It has a lot of controls on it including high and low pass filters, bass boost, and gain control. It also includes a remote gain control that you can mount in the front of your car for quick and easy control of the gain. The features of this amp are comparable of much higher-priced amps, and seems very professional. I first connected this amp in bridged mode to two 250w RMS subs, and I was very disappointed with its performance. I tried changing the gain and bass boost, but I couldn't get the subs to hit hard without the amp going into protection mode (the internal circuit cuts off and will reset once you turn the amp off and back on). The sound quality was great, but the amp wasn't pushing much power at all. The amp is rated for 1000w at 4ohms when in bridged mode, and it was not going anywhere close to that. After reading a few reviews online I decided to hook the two subs up in stereo mode instead of bridged. After doing this I have yet to get the amp to go into protection mode! It does not push as much power as it did in bridged mode, but it sounds great and can get very loud! The sound quality of this amp is very close to amps that cost more than 2x its price. I really recommend this amp, but take into consideration that I could not get it to work well in bridged mode.

Beautiful AND an excellent value
Great amp for the price. After my Pioneer sh*t out on me, I shopped around the internet for amplifiers that would rattle my windows but not break the bank. This one fit the bill perfectly. Tons of adjustment options, clear and precise bass, simple setup (took me about 10 minutes, with my wiring kit already installed) and it looks beautiful. The power LED indicator is really bright, but I guess that can be a good thing. It doesn't draw heavily on your electrical system, either. My old amp used to make my lights dim and RPMs fluctuate and that kind of thing, but this one is a higher wattage and draws almost nothing out of my electrical system. Highly recommend, it's worth it. My bass control knob works with my amp, but I already had one installed so I'm leaving the SSL one off for now. THIS AMP STAYS COOL. I've had it pounding non-stop for a three hour road trip on several occasions, and it never once heated up on me. Just make sure it can breathe, it is vented on the bottom so I would recommend mounting it to something to allow airflow underneath it. I used just a small piece of wood to prop one end up about an inch, and that's plenty.

Booming bass with good price : good product
i have this amp bridged to one 12 inch 4ohm pioneer 12 sub. the bass is fast and responsive, the crossover levels are very good and useful. size is just right for an under trunk mount. there is a cool bright blue light and I used the low level speaker input it came with, and works great with it grounded there is no noise or popping sound. the power SSL has is way more than i need but its always good to have more in case you need it. The trick to the Bass boost controller to work is to turn the bass boost on the amp all the way down and use the bass boost on the remote to control it whenever you need it. I cant understand why people say it doesn't work. Had the amp running for an hour and it was warm in the summer heat nowhere near Hot. Must buy for anyone looking for some good bass.

Read the specs before buying and you get yourself a great low cost highly capable amp!!
I've had this amp for 5 years now and it's done me well. For the price it is an excellent amplifier. There are a lot of reviews on here criticizing this amp but I don't believe any of them read the the specs before buying. You can't write negative reviews because you bought the wrong thing. That being said. If you are looking for a competition amp, then this is not it. But don't expect to buy one for this price either. If you are looking for to enhance your terrible factory system, this will HELP get the jog done. The amp can't do it alone. You need to upgrade other components as well. This amp does supply clean power and is a great entry level amplifier. IT WILL NOT HANDLE A 2 OHM LOAD WHILE BRIDGE. Well it will but not at full power. READ THE SPECS BEFORE BUYING. This amp also has a very nice look similar to studio level audio equipment. I like that.

Worked great since July of 2015
Worked great since July of 2015... Now it goes into protection mode half the time for no apparent reason. Nothing has changed with my setup and I checked to make sure all the wires are still secure. When it goes into protection mode it doesn't feel any warmer than usual. It has been mounted securely in the trunk since it's installation. All wires are hidden from contact with anything else. I suppose I should add that the amp goes into protection mode (or doesn't) almost immediately after the vehicle is started. It either works the entire time the car is on -- or doesn't. It going into protection mode doesn't seem to have anything to do with how much I am pushing it. It doesn't go into protection mode while music is playing -- by the time the music starts the amp has already decided whether or not it is going to function. Again, it seems to make this decision when the vehicle starts... EDIT -- Doing more research and trying a few things mentioned online, I was able to get a few more weeks out of this amp by unplugging and plugging back in the RCAs on the amp itself like every few days. I thought that maybe the RCA cables were bad somehow (very unusual) ... However, now it doesn't matter of the RCAs are plugged in or not; the amp goes into protection mode as soon as is receives power. This rules out bad RCA cables ... Two years for under $70 isn't bad though I suppose; in fact I will probably just buy another one so the form factor is the same and I can literally just remove the old one and hook up the new one. If I get another 2 years out of the replacement, I will consider it a win.

Great product and pricing!!!
Ordered this Friday night, got it on Sunday by 2pm. So my experience with this product has only been for 24hrs. Easy set up. All mounting hardware is included along with high level input plug, which is great since my application is being hooked up with the Oem HeadUnit. With a bridged connection It's powerful enough for my 4ohm dual-voice coil 12" sub which requires 300w RMS. The size of this amp is just right fit beneath the drivers seat in a 2010 civic sedan. The way the connection layout is, makes this a breeze to run and be able to hide all wiring. Will be looking forward to purchasing more SSL Products, am very happy with this purchase so far.

Excellent inexpensive amplifier!
Excellent amp. Clear sounds, no distortion. I'm using it for a subwoofer, but it has the ability to be used for full range speakers as well, which I'm tempted to try. I'm using this to power a previously-passive home theater 110 Watt subwoofer, and it works great. It could definitely push more than that if need be, as on the 100mV- 2V setting and maximum source volume, it only needs a quarter turn on the gain to operate. I'm using it paired with a 200 Watt DC power supply that I also bought on here. Only downside, and not worth even losing a star over, is the fact that even with the HPF on, you can still hear some high level noises slightly. Only reason I notice is that I have the ability to turn off all other speakers. Normally, it wouldn't matter. If I ever have the need for a subwoofer or 2 channel amp, this is my new go-to. You can easily use it in a home-theater setup as well, with the addition of a 12Vdc power supply for around CAD$20.

Great amp for moderate systems
Powers my 400w rms Pioneer 12" perfectly, and i like lots of bass. Gain is set to just over half and boost set to just under half. Check both sensitivity settings before freaking when there's no sound. Very happy with this amp and the remote level control is a great feature. Mounted discreetly and conveniently under the steering wheel for quick level control. Price on point.

Good boom for your buck
I was sold on the price, I have used soundstream speakers in the past. I thought I would give the're amps a go. I have over 15 years car audio experience. This amp is pretty descent but found it lacking power at top end. I have played around with the many settings and currently has it tuned to my liking. However I am replacing an old school kenwood 600w amp which pounded my 12"Kaption sub alot more. I should have gone with the 1500w for what I am trying to acheive, but if your just looking to push a entry level sub or mids this amp is probally your best bet.

Great value for the money
I was attracted to this unit because it did not have ridiculous amounts of power and the manufacturer actually publishes the specs. Being an old school hi-fi guy, being able to read the specifications is very important to me. Found that wiring it was a bit tricky as some of the instructions are vague and or non existent, probably aimed at the professional installer they would prefer you to use. Out side of that it is a marvellous amp, gives me the sound I was looking for and doesn't look like they spent big bucks trying to make it look like something out of a movie set !

... to an 8ohm 12" kicker subwoofer and it works great! Pre-amp settings allow you to change the input ...
Its been around 2 months since I've had this in my trunk wired to an 8ohm 12" kicker subwoofer and it works great! Pre-amp settings allow you to change the input gain of the amplifier to adjust for a variety of signal inputs along with a bass boost adjustment knob. I paired this with a cheap Pioneer head unit (cant remember the model number) and at half power it shakes the trunk of my car. I'd buy this again if I ever broke it, It's great for the price, doesn't feel cheap at all! 5 stars all day long
