Q: Is this a three speed?.

The one that I bought was a 3 speed

Q: Is it installed under the sink?

most of the time it is used in a recirculating water system, install to circulate water which can be be installed anywhere in the water loop

Q: Are these pumps food grade? Would like to use one for beer brewing

I believe not. It is cast iron which is not approved for comestible water. It is not NSF approved. You need a bronze/brass pump.

Q: I am replacing a grundfos pump in a boiler system. part number 59896769. will this pump work? all other numbers match. max temp needs to be 230f

I would say yes. I am running mine on 180f and it work great and am running it on # 3. The one thing about that pump is the water will keep moving when the pump is off.
