Perfect product, given its 'universal' fit
We just took this on a 10-day cruise and were able to use our digital camera while surfing, swimming, playing at a water park, snorkeling, relaxing at the beach, and 'snooba' diving (went down about 15 feet or so, no problems with the depth). The case worked perfectly and we never had a single drop of water touch the camera. For the price and design, I could not be happier. There are a few things to be aware of, though in my opinion these don't detract from the product's value at all.- Because it's a 'universal' design, your camera will not fit perfectly. To keep our (much smaller) camera in place we used tissue or rolled up ziplock bags underneath and on each side of the camera. This meant that the camera stayed right where we wanted it, with the camera's lens not being blocked by the case's lens cover. If you don't do something like this you will most likely struggle to get the camera in the right place for each shot, meaning you'll end up missing important shots. Foam pieces or something similar would also work; otherwise I'd recommend using the rolled up ziplock bags as the tissues ended up getting fuzz all over the inside of the case (an easy clean up, but potentially problematic).- Depending on the model of the camera, some functions may be a bit difficult to change. Most functions on our camera were easy to change since they just used buttons on the back, no problem there. However, on top of our camera there is a small switch that changes the mode from still image to video, and because the plastic is rather thick (which is a good thing since that's what keeps the water out) it was a little difficult to change modes by sliding that tiny switch back and forth. It wasn't impossible, and I got the hang of it enough that I didn't hesitate to change over to video mode (some of the underwater video looks incredible), but it's something to be aware of.- Also depending on the model/design of your camera, the large rubber lens cover may block part of the camera's flash. This happened with our camera, causing some darkening on the top right corner of any shot the flash was used with. In my opinion this isn't a design flaw for the case, it's merely an unfortunate result of our camera's flash being so close to its lens (something that is quite common in the modern, tiny point-and-shoots). Luckily the majority of our use has been, and probably will continue to be, out in sunny weather so the flash-shadow only impacted a small number of our shots. Even with the flash-shadow, the shots we got were better than nothing (and if planned well, the shot could be positioned to allow cropping of the photo later).- Because this is an underwater case, you will always have potential for leakage, but this case is designed quite well and shouldn't cause problems if you take the time to ensure the seal is in place. My wife was very careful to ensure a good seal each time she loaded up the camera, if you're not as careful you could have problems (not a design error with this case, just the way it is with underwater cases).Certainly the convenience would be higher with a model-specific case, but those are hard to find and rather expensive. For this case, which will fit most point-and-shoots, the value can't be beat. Overall, we loved this case and look forward to using it many more times. Beaches, pools, rainy days... we wish we'd had this a long time ago.

DicaPac WP410 160x105mm Small Zoom Alfa Waterproof Digital Camera Case with Optical Lens (Clear)
This product performs as described. I was skeptical at first and wanted the solid plastic box type of container. But, I needed this in a pinch and on a budget, so I gambled. It worked out very, very well, and was worth every penny. I took it to Hawaii, and snorkled with my sony SD1000 camera. My pictures turned out great, and it kept my camera absolutely safe. The big pro over the hard box is that I was able to change modes on my camera while under the water. I switched back and forth from camera mode to video mode and got great video and pictures on the fly.The black ring in front of the zoom can be a problem. You just have to make sure the camera is positioned properly so that the lens will open and position within the ring properly to avoid it either A. showing black rings in your photos, or B. jamming the lens as it opens and causing an error on your camera. I know what you're thinking, "I don't want to have to worry about positioning my camera all the time". Trust me, it is not a big deal, and you figure it out very quickly. This case fits multiple cameras, it was a little large on my camera, and is why you have to position it properly. You could very easily insert foam, etc. in the case to snug the fit and solve this problem, but it was no hassle position it without the using foam, etc.The lanyard that comes with the case, may come untied from the clasps, so inspect them before you trust it around your neck. Mine came loose, but the camera floats, so I instantly retrieved it and fixed the problem.Pros: affordable, safe and watertight for your camera, allows for great photos, allows changing of camera functions due to soft material, floats, easy to insert camera or remove with the zipper and velcro folding method that "will not" allow any water in.Cons: universal fit for more than 1 camera model so some positioning necessary to ensure lens is lined up properly for unobstructed pictures, black ring around lens fitting can block some flash so I usually operated without flash on,Overall: If you don't want to spend hundreds on a box, then buy this with no hesitation. It will work as well as you need it to.My camera was the canon powershot sd1000.

This is the product I want
I was looking for a waterproof camera for my Hawaii trip and eventually found this one. This is the exact product I want. I am very satisfied with it during my snorkeling trip. Here is what I found:- It's really waterproof. No leak what so ever. It's easy to put your camera in and take it out as well as sealing the case.- Picture quality is very good. I can hardly notice any existence of the case. I used my Nikon point-and-shot DC. I can take as many pictures as I want. I can even take videos.- It's much cheaper compared with waterproof DCs. Since I already have a DC, I don't need to spend another two hundred or more just for this purpose. As everything in the world, it's not perfect:- The case is universal, and the size doesn't match my DC nicely. My camera is a little bit more smaller and it will move in the case. It took me a while to get use to the move and found a way to avoid it when taking pictures.- It's more difficult to press the shutter button because of the case. I need to press the button harder and longer. Sometimes, I thought I pressed it but actually not. So I missed several nice scenes. Again, it takes time.- The case floats with air in it because my camera is very light. Usually a waterproof camera is heavy so that it will not float. You can put some small item in the case to add weight. In general, this is a great product for you to use underwater. I highly recommend it.

Hält was es verspricht

Davvero molto soddisfatto. Tutta l'estate a fare foto in acqua, sopra, sotto, uno spasso senza fine. ;)
